Job summary

QX Global Group in McCalla, AL is seeking experienced Maintenance Technicians and Maintenance Supervisors to support an Injection Molding or Assembly operation. The role focuses on troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and leading maintenance teams to maximize uptime and safety.

Candidates should have 3+ years in industrial maintenance, PLCs, VFDs, robotics, and CMMS. Preferred experience in injection molding or automotive assembly, and a technical degree or certification.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience.
  • Proven experience leading, supervising, coordinating, or training maintenance technicians in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize maintenance activities, assign work, and effectively communicate with production and maintenance teams.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in both mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms).
  • Working knowledge of: VFDs, Servo drives and motion control systems, Industrial sensors and instrumentation, Pneumatic and hydraulic systems, AC/DC motors and electrical controls, Experience supporting industrial robots, automated machinery, and manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, robotic, and automation-related equipment issues.
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.
  • Diagnose and repair faults involving PLCs, VFDs, servo systems, sensors, motors, robotics, and controls.
  • Prioritize equipment failures and coordinate repair activities to support production requirements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment histories using CMMS systems.
  • Support equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve equipment-related issues.
  • Provide leadership, training, mentoring, and technical guidance to maintenance personnel.
  • Assign, coordinate, and monitor maintenance activities to ensure timely completion of work.

Role: Maintenance Technician / Maintenance Supervisor


About the Opportunity

We are seeking experienced Maintenance Technicians and Maintenance Supervisors to support a growing manufacturing operation in McCalla, Alabama. This position will support either Injection Molding Maintenance or Assembly Maintenance, depending on the candidate's background and expertise.


The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, hands‑on experience with industrial automation and manufacturing equipment, and proven experience leading maintenance teams, coordinating repairs, and driving equipment reliability initiatives. This role is critical to ensuring maximum equipment uptime, operational efficiency, and safe manufacturing performance.


Key Responsibilities


  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, robotic, and automation‑related equipment issues.

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.

  • Diagnose and repair faults involving PLCs, VFDs, servo systems, sensors, motors, robotics, and controls.

  • Prioritize equipment failures and coordinate repair activities to support production requirements.

Required Qualifications


  • Minimum 3+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience.

  • Proven experience leading, supervising, coordinating, or training maintenance technicians in a manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize maintenance activities, assign work, and effectively communicate with production and maintenance teams.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills in both mechanical and electrical systems.

  • Experience working with PLC‑controlled equipment (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms).

  • Working knowledge of:

  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)

  • Servo drives and motion control systems

  • Industrial sensors and instrumentation

  • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems

  • AC/DC motors and electrical controls

  • Experience supporting industrial robots, automated machinery, and manufacturing equipment.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

  • Strong problem‑solving, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.


Candidates supporting Injection Molding operations should have experience with:



  • Maintenance and repair of injection molding machines and related auxiliary equipment.

  • Hydraulic systems, clamp systems, heaters, thermocouples, barrel and screw assemblies.

  • Dryers, chillers, temperature control systems, and material handling equipment.

  • Mold changes, machine setup, and startup processes.

  • Hot runner systems, mold protection systems, and molding‑cell automation.

  • Troubleshooting molding defects associated with equipment performance and machine failures.


Preferred Experience: Assembly Maintenance

Candidates supporting Assembly operations should have experience with:



  • Lamination and press‑lamination systems.

  • Conveyors, presses, and automated assembly equipment.

  • ABB and/or FANUC robot troubleshooting and maintenance.

  • Automotive interior manufacturing processes.

  • Laser scoring and airbag chute assembly equipment.

  • Automated production systems and process optimization.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Technical degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or a related field.

  • Industrial Maintenance certification or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Automotive manufacturing experience.

  • Experience utilizing CMMS software for maintenance planning and work order management.

  • Familiarity with maintenance performance metrics, including MTTR, equipment uptime, and reliability measures.

  • Experience with maintenance assessments such as Ramsey Testing.

  • Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or Continuous Improvement experience is a plus.
