Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Asset Management Maintenance Manager with monitoring, reporting, and disseminating daily activities and training of the maintenance staff. The incumbent coordinates and performs repairs to the interior and exterior of Agency structures, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and plastering duties in response to work orders generated by service requests or unit inspections. This position also supports the Maintenance Manager with daily activities and assignments as needed.
All activities must support the Lucas Metropolitan Housing (“LMH”) mission, strategic goals, and objectives.

Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or GED equivalent and a minimum of four (4) years of experience in construction or building maintenance, or vocational training focusing on carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs. Any trades certifications or licenses, such as Journeyman Plumber, Electrician and HVAC are preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Must possess a valid Ohio or Michigan driver’s license and be insurable under the Agency’s plan.
Technical Skills
To perform this job successfully, the employee should be able to successfully operate a variety of applicable hand-held tools and devices. Must have the ability to learn other programs as required by assigned tasks.

To perform this job successfully, the employee is frequently required to travel to various Agency properties to perform maintenance work. Daily movements include sitting; standing; reaching and grasping; operating handheld tools and other machinery; moving about the properties; and attending onsite meetings and offsite meetings. The employee must be able to exchange information in person, in writing, and via telephone. The employee must occasionally transport up to 50 pounds.

Position generally works at Agency properties, which may cause the employee to experience a range in temperatures and other weather conditions.
