Job summary

LEGO Manufacturing Virginia Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Team Coordinator to support the operation and reliability of our automated warehouse.

You will lead maintenance activities—preventive, corrective, and predictive—across equipment, sensors, and control systems to ensure safety and product quality. This role partners with cross-functional teams, analyzes downtime, conducts root cause analysis, and mentors technicians.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams or supervising others.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance in an automated warehouse or similar environment.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required (must be obtained upon hire or within a specified timeframe).
  • Hands-on experience with repair and maintenance of industrial equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Working knowledge of PLC systems with ability to perform basic tasks (Allen Bradley and Siemens preferred).
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and maintenance-related software tools.
  • Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and safety certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the maintenance team to ensure LEGO warehouse equipment is maintained in optimal condition to support safe, efficient operations and product quality.
  • Execute and support corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Adjust and optimize equipment settings and parameters (machinery, sensors, etc.).
  • Identify, replace, and manage spare parts based on wear, performance, and operational needs.
  • Support installation and configuration of new equipment within the facility.
  • Serve as a liaison with external vendors and suppliers to troubleshoot and resolve critical equipment issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement in equipment reliability and processes.
  • Collaborate with warehouse teams to coordinate planned downtime and response to equipment failures.

Job DescriptionPosition Overview:We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Team Coordinator to support the operation and reliability of a highly automated warehouse environment. This role is responsible for leading and coordinating maintenance activities, including preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance, to ensure equipment performance, safety, and operational efficiency.The Automated Warehouse Maintenance Team Coordinator will work closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, minimize downtime, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This position also supports the development of maintenance technicians, ensures adherence to safety and quality standards, and serves as a key point of contact for equipment performance and reliability.Starting Pay Rate: $39.75/hour (paid weekly)Shift Differential: 10% for night shiftSchedule: Rotating 2-2-3 shift pattern (day and night shifts)Key ResponsibilitiesLead the maintenance team to ensure LEGO warehouse equipment is maintained in optimal condition to support safe, efficient operations and product qualityExecute and support corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance activitiesAdjust and optimize equipment settings and parameters (machinery, sensors, etc.)Identify, replace, and manage spare parts based on wear, performance, and operational needsSupport installation and configuration of new equipment within the facilityServe as a liaison with external vendors and suppliers to troubleshoot and resolve critical equipment issuesConduct root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement in equipment reliability and processesSupport technician development by ensuring required skills are met and maintaining the skills matrixCollaborate with warehouse teams to coordinate planned downtime and response to equipment failuresAdditional Duties & TasksFollow all applicable safety, environmental, and quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHS standards)Recommend improvements to preventive maintenance procedures and checklistsMonitor and report spare parts inventory needsSupport and track training completion and employee development in coordination with trainersPerform process confirmations and auditsReport downtime and key issues during shifts to support continuous improvement effortsParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma)Attend and contribute to daily shift meetings and weekly department meetingsUpdate and track maintenance KPIs and huddle board metricsAssist in creating and updating maintenance documentation and standard operating proceduresContribute to engineering and maintenance improvement projectsSupport identification and procurement of critical spare partsPerform condition monitoring activities (e.g., thermography, vibration analysis) as requiredMaintain compliance with 5S standards, safety programs, and maintenance best practicesParticipate in safety initiatives, audits, and continuous improvement boardsCommunicate effectively across shifts to ensure proper handoff of information, issues, and learningsEscalate critical issues to leadership when necessary and follow appropriate decision-making protocolsQualificationsMinimum of 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar roleDemonstrated experience leading teams or supervising othersAdvanced knowledge of electrical and mechanical maintenance in an automated warehouse or similar environmentAbility to work at heights ranging from 8 to 40 meters, including participation in height rescue procedures if necessaryCPR and First Aid certification required (must be obtained upon hire or within a specified timeframe)Hands-on experience with repair and maintenance of industrial equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systemsWorking knowledge of PLC systems with ability to perform basic tasks (Allen Bradley and Siemens preferred)Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and maintenance-related software toolsStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applicationsKnowledge of and adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and safety certificationsWillingness to travel internationally for training as neededPreferred QualificationsTechnical degree in electromechanics, mechanics, electronics, or a related fieldExperience working in an automated materials handling or warehouse environment#LI-AC1Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis.
