Job summary

Quality Packaging Inc. in St. Francis, WI, seeks a Maintenance Support Technician to keep production running by performing on-the-spot repairs and preventive maintenance on time.

You will verify safety switches, mark hazards, and handle facility upkeep, while retraining and setting up equipment as production needs change. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in a manufacturing environment, a self-starter attitude, solid mechanical skills, and good communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years in a production or manufacturing service environment.
• Self-starter mentality — you identify and fix problems without being told.
• Solid mechanical aptitude and ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Strong communication skills and a true team-player attitude.
• High School Diploma or GED-equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for most of the shift.
• Good close and color vision with the ability to adjust focus while working with machinery.

Responsibilities

• Perform urgent on-the-spot repairs and scheduled preventive maintenance to keep production running.
• Verify safety switches and ensure pinch points and hazards are clearly marked.
• Tackle building repairs (doorknobs, door closures, etc.) quickly and efficiently.
• Retool and set up equipment as needed to support production demands.
• Maintain a clean, organized parts room for easy part retrieval.
• Process internal repair orders with accountability and traceability.
• Aim to minimize downtime and maximize output.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Keep production running: perform urgent on-the-spot repairs and scheduled preventive maintenance (PMs) on time — every time.
• Own equipment safety: verify safety switches are functioning and ensure pinch points and hazards are clearly marked.
• Handle facility upkeep: tackle building repairs (doorknobs, door closures, and more) quickly and efficiently.
• Retool and set up equipment as needed to support production demands.
• Maintain a clean, organized parts room so the right part is always easy to find.
• Process internal repair orders for full accountability and transparent tracking.
• Drive downtime reduction: your goal is to minimize disruptions and maximize output.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 2+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing service environment.
• Self-starter mentality — you don't wait to be told, you spot a problem and fix it.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This role is primarily on the production floor — a moderately noisy environment where you'll be on your feet and moving. You'll regularly stand, walk, and use your hands to operate tools and equipment. Occasional work outside standard hours may be required to meet customer needs.
