Job summary

Belcan is seeking a Maintenance Support Technician in Las Vegas, NV to provide technical leadership for material handling equipment. The role focuses on maintenance, repair, and some installation across customer sites with up to 75% travel, including overnight stays.

The position is temporary-to-hire with a 2:30 PM–11:00 PM schedule. The ideal candidate has a technical degree or equivalent experience, and is proficient with PLCs, servo drives, and CMMS documentation.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or 4-5 years of equivalent work experience; MSSC Network Repair certification acceptable.
• Three+ years' experience leading teams.
• Experience troubleshooting servo drives, PLCs, and PC controllers.
• Electrical troubleshooting including wiring, motors, schematics, CNC.
• Able to document work in CMMS and obtain forklift certification.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% and stay overnight.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership in installation, support, and repairs of material handling equipment.
• Identify faults and develop fault resolution plans.
• Communicate status and improvement opportunities to customers and supervisors.
• Collaborate with Fortna team on performance and reliability plans using RCA.
• Perform maintenance including startup, calibration, PM on conveyors and sortation.
• Maintain knowledge of safety standards including LOTO and PPE.
• Respond onsite for emergencies as required.

As Field Technician 3, you will provide technical and leadership support for all material handling equipment. You will be focused on maintenance, repair and some Installation of automation equipment at a variety of customer sites. Additional duties will include administrative tasks such as reports, inventory control, customer relations during site visits as well as facilitating cross training and mentorship.

Generally, this position requires up to 75% travel to various Customer Sites and will often include overnight stays. Typically, travel is within the United States but occasionally may require some international travel.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide technical expertise and leadership in the installation, support, and repairs of various material handling equipment. As needed, provide support remotely by phone or computer.
• Identify equipment faults. Develop and implement fault resolution plans.
• Communicate with customers and supervisors on equipment status, performance, and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with FORTNA team to develop and implement equipment performance and reliably plans utilizing root cause analysis and performance observations.
• Provided in-depth maintenance and support on conveyor and sortation equipment operations to include removal, installation, startup, calibration, preventive maintenance and functional utilization.
• Solid understanding of controls systems, PLC, and communication networks.
• Readily available to go onsite for technical emergencies/ customer support at any time.

REQUIREMENTS

• Possesses a technical degree or 4-5 years equivalent work experience, MSSC Certification in Network Repair or Military training in the fields of electronic, radio, or mechanical systems in lieu of degree. Three or more years" experience leading teams.
• Experience troubleshooting Servo drives, PLC, PC controllers, dc power supplies, optical devices (i.e., encoders, photo eyes, etc.)
• Electrical troubleshooting skills to include wiring, AC power, AC motors, electrical drawings/schematics, CNC experience and control panels.
• Ability to work alone and / or provide technical direction to team members.
• Ability to utilize CMMS to document work performed at customer sites
• Ability to obtain and maintain certification to operate various forklift equipment.
• Perform root cause analysis utilizing strong problem-solving / trouble-shooting skills.
• Ability to communicate and execute classroom and practical training activities
• Demonstrate detailed knowledge of industrial safety standards to include LOTO and PPE.
• Strong electrical mechanical background and ability to troubleshoot problems.
• Mechanical experience with gearboxes, sprockets, chains, bearings, guide rollers, etc.
• Excellent verbal communication skills, written and verbal.
• Have excellent customer service / interpersonal skills and possess a logical problem- solving mindset.
• Knowledge of conveying systems and MS Office Suite.
• Must be self-motivated, detailed oriented and results focused.
