Job summary

Silgan Closures in Champaign, IL seeks a Maintenance Support Technician on the Monday-Friday Day Shift. You will assist maintenance technicians with preventive maintenance activities, basic equipment inspections, and parts room coordination to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities include routine and emergency maintenance, work-order support, and documentation while maintaining GMP compliance and a strong safety focus. Some forklift experience and basic mechanical aptitude are preferred.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED preferred.
• Manufacturing, warehouse, or forklift experience preferred.
• Forklift experience strongly preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and safety mindset.
• Ability to use computers, tablets, scanners and other devices.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency maintenance on equipment and facilities.
• Assist with preventive maintenance activities and inspections.
• Help with work orders, documentation, and parts inventory.
• Maintain clean and organized maintenance shop and parts room.
• Coordinate with contractors and support plant projects as needed.
• Assist with other duties as required and follow GMP guidelines.
• Observe safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
• Support team and contribute to continuous improvements.
