Job summary

Redwood Communities is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee on-site teams at our Akron, OH properties and ensure safe, well-maintained living spaces. You will lead maintenance technicians, manage work orders, perform repairs, and coordinate turnovers with the Community Manager.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with on-call flexibility. The role requires 5 years of supervisory experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work in the United States.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a maintenance supervisor.
  • Ability to supervise on-site maintenance teams.
  • Proficient in a wide range of repairs (painting, drywall, electrical, plumbing).
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
  • Able to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct on-site maintenance technicians to complete requests.
  • Receive, prioritize, and close maintenance work orders.
  • Conduct daily property walks to identify repairs and safety concerns.
  • Inspect and upkeep common areas, units, and exteriors.
  • Collaborate with Community Manager on unit turnovers.

This role provides hands-on support and leadership to maintenance technicians while ensuring timely completion of service requests and adherence to quality standards.Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pmPay Details: $26-28hrEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Team Leadership: Provide direction and support to on-site maintenance technicians, ensuring work is completed efficiently and in accordance with company standards.Maintenance Operations: Receive, prioritize, and complete maintenance requests for apartment units, common areas, and building exteriors.Property Inspections: Conduct daily property walks with maintenance technicians to identify repair needs, safety concerns, and opportunities for improvement.Work Order Management: Enter, review, and schedule work orders to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.Repairs and Upkeep: Perform or oversee a variety of repairs, including interior and exterior painting, drywall, electrical, minor appliance and plumbing repairs, furniture moving, and pest control assistance.Unit Turnovers: Collaborate with the Community Manager to ensure all vacant units are prepared and ready for occupancy within established timelines (typically 14 days).Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for equipment, systems, and building infrastructure to minimize downtime and extend asset life.System Oversight: Understand and monitor the operation of fire control, water, and other building systems, ensuring proper functionality and compliance with safety standards.Grounds and Janitorial Care: Maintain the cleanliness and curb appeal of the property through regular groundskeeping and interior/exterior janitorial duties.Procurement: Purchase supplies, equipment, and contracted services as needed to support routine maintenance activities and ensure cost-effective operations.5 years experience as a maintenance supervisor.High energy team player that is a self-starter that can work proactively with limited supervision.Valid driver’s license and insurance.On-call flexibilitySuccessful completion of background check.Must be legally qualified to work in the U.S. meeting I-9 guidelinesRedwood Communities is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
