JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for supervision and training of all maintenance. Takes direction from the Maintenance Manager.Thisrole develops and delivers training programs to equip maintenance personnel with the skills and knowledge to effectively perform their duties insuring efficient and reliable operation. Directing technicians for assigned duties. Supervises maintenance personnel for day-to-day control of assigned department activities according to prescribed schedules priorities, production flow, and processing specifications to ensure overall plant efficiencies are met. Responsible for managing the maintenance training and development.Assures operation of safe and functionally sound equipment. Evaluates assigned work performance and takes corrective action. Leads, coaches, and trains assigned personnel to work standards and ensures said standards are being followed constantly.

Essential Job Duties

i.Notifies Maintenance Manager when problems arise withequipment or machinery.

  • Able to recommend or suggest the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or any other status changes of employees with consideration of the frequency with which such recommendations are made, requested, and relied upon.
  • Maintains open dialogue with assigned team.
  • Handles employee complaints, grievances, and concerns as needed. When approached with feedback and concerns, able to resolves them in the most direct and positive way possible.
  • Ensures all company policies are followed.
  • Train and Supports Maintenance Technicians in troubleshooting pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, equipment PCL and Process Controls software and ensures necessary repairs are completed expeditiously.
  • Provides leadership for planning and executing preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance programs. Provide leadership for Technicians who are performing these tasks.
  • Manages employees’ hours for maintenance department
  • Manages highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and other plant equipment.
  • Manages daily morning set-up, break down equipment at the end of the shift, equipment installs, parts replacement, troubleshooting equipment, etc.
  • Trains and supports Technicians in troubleshooting pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, equipment PLC and Process Control software and ensures necessary repairs are completed expeditiously.
  • Supervises outside contractors to perform repairs on failed machinery and equipment.
  • Understands the tools and equipment needed to do each job.
  • Understands and determines when and what type of maintenance is needed.
  • Determines causes of operating errors and processes and communicates with others and manager.
  • Resolves all maintenance and mechanical problems promptly with minimal disruption to production schedules.
  • Communicates any issues that remain unresolved to manager promptly.
  • Provides leadership for planning and executing of preventative and predictive maintenance programs Leads equipment installations, including hooking up air, water, gas, and the alignment and leveling of equipment.
  • Completes maintenance recordkeeping.
  • Keeps record of all work performed.
  • Updates maintenance history logs and completes required paperwork.
  • Accounts for equipment used for maintenance and repairs.
  • Understand and follow the company GMP policy.
  • Understand and follow the company safety rules.
  • May be required to work additional hours and weekends.
  • May assume other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent certification
  • At least 4 years of industrial maintenance experience required
  • Strong electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, PLC, and industrial maintenance experience
  • AAS degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
  • Must be well-organized with good attention to detail
  • Display strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Adaptable and dependable with ability to follow direction and work in cooperation with others.
  • Must maintain a helpful and professional attitude.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to lead other toward achieving personal and plant results

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Very active position, requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day

Hearing

Must be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

Repetitive Motion

Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or fingers.

Visual Abilities

Acute close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Physical Strength

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds if needed

Working Conditions

Must be able to work in a food processing environment, where it can be wet, damp, and cold.

  • Wage Scale $80,000-$90,000
