What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Oversee and manage various types of litigated claims, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards
- Collaborate with defense counsel and engage in negotiations during mediations and settlement conferences
- Set and monitor performance goals and targets for the claims team
- Conduct quality assurance reviews and ensure consistent service levels
- Train, mentor, and evaluate team members for their career development
What is Required (Qualifications):
- BA/BS in business, insurance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in a supervisory position within a casualty claims environment
- Must hold an Adjuster license for all applicable states or obtain licenses within 90 days of employment
- Comprehensive understanding of all lines of coverage, including complex liability issues
- Ability to effectively supervise in a virtual team environment
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- AIC (Associate in Claims) certificate or CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) designation
- Licensing in multiple states
- Proven ability to foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment
- Experience in shaping company culture through active participation in employee resource groups or community service
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
