Job summary

Idlewild Creek Apartments, a 215-unit senior community in Cornwall, NY, seeks a dedicated Maintenance Supervisor to oversee daily operations and supervise maintenance staff. You will ensure that all units, common areas, and amenities are well-maintained, safe, and functional.

The role involves responding to service requests, coordinating repairs, managing preventive maintenance, and working with the Community Manager to keep residents and the property in top condition.

Qualifications

• 1+ years’ experience as a Maintenance Supervisor at a multifamily community of 100+ units.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster positive relationships with residents.
• Basic computer proficiency, including email and navigating property management software programs.
• Experience with plumbing, HVAC, and appliance repairs (stoves, refrigerators, washer/dryers, etc.).
• Must be able to respond to after-hour emergencies and participate in on-call rotation.
• Employees must supply their own hand tools and possess knowledge of safe use of hand tools and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Represent Investment Property Group in a positive and professional manner at all times.
• Complete assigned work orders and preventive maintenance by diagnosing defects and making repairs.
• Complete the “make ready” process to prepare vacant apartment homes for new move-ins, coordinating vendors and supplies.
• Track inventory and coordinate with the maintenance department on material needs.
• Schedule staffing of maintenance staff and coordinate with the Community Manager.
• Train and monitor safe work practices and provide scheduling guidance as necessary.
• Assist with daily property inspections to detect maintenance issues.
• Follow a preventative maintenance schedule.
• Perform repairs and maintenance on vacant and occupied apartments.
• Maintain professionalism and respect in interactions with residents, staff, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Routinely complete required reporting using property management software.
