Job summary

HP Hood is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee daily maintenance operations and ensure plant equipment runs safely and efficiently. You will lead a team, coordinate with the Maintenance Manager, and drive improvements across mechanical and electrical systems in a food manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in plant maintenance, 3+ years of supervisory experience, and familiarity with PLCs and ammonia refrigeration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance experience in a plant/manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years of supervisory or managerial experience.
• Industry background in Food or Beverage preferred.
• Experience with mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience with PLCs and ammonia refrigeration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day activities of a maintenance team and coordinate with the Maintenance/Plant Manager.
• Maintain equipment and resolve mechanical issues to boost productivity and capabilities.
• Foster a positive work environment with focus on development, training and safety.
• Assign maintenance work orders and track completion with follow-ups as needed.
• Plan and execute plant projects and maintenance improvements.
• Control inventories, parts ordering, and vendor communications to improve operations and costs.
• Support SQF by maintaining food safety and sanitary work areas.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor will manage the everyday operation and upkeep of the equipment and building, planning and implementing projects and safety issues within and around the plant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manages day- to-day activities of a team of direct reports and communicates daily with Maintenance Manager and/or Plant Manager.
• Supports operational departments by maintaining equipment and resolves mechanical malfunctions to increase productivity, job capabilities, and equipment capabilities at the department’s request.
• Establishes and maintains a positive work environment including but not limited to personal development, training, and safety.
• Analyzes maintenance work orders and assigns maintenance personnel to complete all necessary orders. Follows up with the assigned personnel as needed until the order is complete.
• Plan and execute projects in conjunction with what is assigned by the Maintenance Manager and/or Plant Manager.
• Controlling inventories, parts ordering, and vendor communication. Focus on improving operations and improving costs.
• Assists in the scheduling of maintenance team to ensure projects are completed.
• Supports SQF (Safe Quality Foods) by maintaining food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner.
• Serves as backup to those employees in the leadership role within the Maintenance department, and gives technical support and guidance to maintenance personnel as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.

Education and Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance within a plant or manufacturing industry. Associates orBachelor’s Degree preferred.
• At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience required.
• Industry background in Food or Beverage preferred.
• Demonstrated experience within mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience within PLC’s and Ammonia Refrigeration preferred
• Demonstrated experience within mechanical and electrical systems.

Physical Requirements

• Standing: Long periods (a minimum of 6 hours).

• Lifting: Light (less than 30lbs) infrequently distance- 100 ft.
• Pushing/Pulling: under 75lbs without assistance infrequently.
