Job summary

Ford Motor in Wayne, MI is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead an hourly team on a fast-paced manufacturing floor. You will champion safety, drive operational excellence, and ensure production targets are met through strategic tasking and resource allocation.

You will apply a servant leadership style to develop teams, use data to reduce downtime, and continuously improve quality and processes. This is a salary-grade 7 role with annual compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 3+ years supervisory, manufacturing, military, or other relevant experience.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and hours, including nights and weekends.
• Fundamental working knowledge of PLC logic and controls.
• Experience with Lean / Six Sigma methodology and / or Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP) Experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead a dedicated hourly maintenance team, driving safety and quality in daily operations.
• Act as champion of workplace safety, enforcing regulations and promoting vigilance.
• Drive operational excellence and own team performance to meet production targets.
• Prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and apply bias for action to resolve issues.
• Foster servant leadership, develop high-performing teams, and maintain cross-functional collaboration.
• Utilize data to reduce downtime and defects and report attendance for strategic decisions.
• Identify and eliminate inefficiencies, pursue continuous improvement and quality standards.
• Address conflicts fairly, build strong relationships with team, union, and management.
