Qualifications

  • Post-high school education is required.
  • 3–5 years of experience in machine repair and maintenance; 1–3 years in supervising people.
  • Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, control technology, and welding.
  • Knowledge of safe equipment practices and applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Hazardous waste and hazardous material handling procedures knowledge.
  • Knowledge of precision tools, measuring instruments, and other hand tools.
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and other business software.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in interviews and hiring processes.
  • Orientates and trains maintenance personnel.
  • Coaches, counsels employees, and initiates discipline as required.
  • Evaluates the performance of subordinates.
  • Develops and implements preventative and other maintenance programs to ensure proper equipment operation.
  • Identifies, researches, and resolves problems.
  • Coordinates maintenance activities with the operating department's requirements.
  • Leads employees in continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
  • Performs regular/preventative maintenance on all machinery, tools, and buildings.
  • Develops, implements, and supervises the plant's Preventive Maintenance program.
  • Repairs machinery, equipment, buildings, and other Company assets in accordance with diagrams, operating manuals, and manufacturing specifications, or by management request.
  • Orders supplies and parts as required, at competitive pricing and rates.
  • Maintains records of repair/maintenance activities, per Company policy.
  • Prepares other reports as required.
  • Performs duties consistent with established safety rules and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required.
