Job summary

Oldcastle APG in Kent, WA is seeking a maintenance technician to install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, and physical structures, and to communicate with production and management on all issues within the plant.

The role requires knowledge in block production and skills in mechanical, hydraulic, welding and fabrication work, plus teamwork and problem solving. The position offers $43–$46 per hour and a benefits package including PTO, 401(k), and disability coverage.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge in block production.
• Possess mechanical, hydraulic, welding and fabrication abilities.
• Computer skills a plus.
• Teamwork and problem solving a must.
• PLC systems / understanding a plus.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
• Organize and plan maintenance each day.
• Prepare for scheduled maintenance.
• Responsible for organization of schedules for special projects, in addition to preventative maintenance.
• Maintain good house-keeping within shop and all maintenance areas.
• Responsible for adherence to safety rules and making certain all monthly safety meetings are held with all maintenance employees in attendance.
• Order parts needed for special projects and regular maintenance supplies.
• Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.
• Dismantle defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
• Responsible for training and supervising other members of maintenance team
