Job summary

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Vernon State Hospital is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor III to lead the maintenance department, supervise staff, prioritize life-safety code work, and coordinate with contractors to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant facility operation.

This full-time, on-site role offers a monthly salary in the range of $4,020.33 to $6,335.66, a defined benefit pension, generous leave, and opportunities for career advancement within HHSC.

Qualifications

• Vocational training in a designated trade with three (3) years of experience supervising the work of others.
• Or five (5) years of experience in maintenance/painter work with three (3) years supervising the work of others.

Responsibilities

• Supervise maintenance and construction staff and schedule work.
• Estimate hours and materials for projects.
• Oversee preventive maintenance procedures and repairs.
• Coordinate work activities with Maintenance Facility supervisors and contractors.
• Ensure safety, compliance, and timely completion of tasks.
