Job summary

Pilkington North America Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance technicians in supporting production equipment, automation systems, and facility utilities to keep operations safe, reliable, and efficient.

You will oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance while driving continuous improvement and equipment reliability across the plant. The role collaborates with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Safety teams to minimize downtime, maximize OEE, and ensure

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in automotive manufacturing.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience in maintenance preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with automated equipment, robotics, conveyors, and manufacturing systems.
  • Ability to read electrical, mechanical and pneumatic drawings.
  • Experience with CMMS and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, schedule, and support maintenance technicians in daily repair and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Ensure production equipment is maintained and operating reliably to meet plant production goals.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and coordinate troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
  • Provide technical support for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, robotic, and automated systems.
  • Manage preventive maintenance schedules and completion of assigned work.
  • Review work orders, prioritize repairs, and track equipment issues.
  • Support installation, relocation, and startup of new equipment and projects.
  • Assist with PLCs, sensors, drives, controls, and automated systems troubleshooting.
  • Oversee maintenance of building systems and plant utilities (HVAC, compressed air, electrical, lighting, plumbing, fire protection).
  • Coordinate contractors and vendors for facility repairs or improvements.
  • Support facility upgrades, capital projects, and plant expansions.
  • Ensure plant remains clean, safe, and operational for employees and production needs.
  • Provide direction, coaching, and support to maintenance team members.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a strong safety culture.
  • Identify training opportunities and develop maintenance skills within the team.
  • Assist with staffing, scheduling, and overtime planning as needed.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities follow safety policies and OSHA requirements.
  • Enforce Lockout/Tagout procedures and safe work practices.
  • Participate in safety audits, problem-solving, and improvement initiatives.
  • Drive improvements that increase reliability and reduce repeat failures.

Job description

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading maintenance personnel in supporting production equipment, automation systems, utilities, and facility infrastructure to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. This position oversees preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities while driving continuous improvement, equipment reliability, and regulatory compliance. The Maintenance Supervisor works closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Safety teams to minimize downtime and maximize overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

Essential Functions:

  • Lead, schedule, and support maintenance technicians in daily repair and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Ensure production equipment is maintained and operating reliably to meet plant production goals.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and coordinate troubleshooting efforts to minimize downtime.
  • Provide technical support for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, robotic, and automated manufacturing systems.
  • Manage preventive maintenance schedules and ensure completion of assigned work.
  • Review maintenance work orders, prioritize repairs, and track equipment issues.

  • All other duties as assigned by Manager.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Previous maintenance leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

  • Experience working with automated equipment, robotics, conveyors, and manufacturing systems.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic drawings.
  • Experience with CMMS systems and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Automotive manufacturing experience.
  • PLC troubleshooting experience.
  • Robotics and automation experience;
  • Facility utility maintenance experience.
  • Experience managing contractors and capital projects.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and continuous improvement practices.

Salary Range:$78,108.00 - $93,732.00
