Job Summary

An Maintenance/Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for shift coverage and must possess strong troubleshooting skills across all maintenance areas, including guest rooms, meeting spaces, front and back of house areas such as kitchen, laundry, electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems. Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics, along with a minimum of 5 years of building maintenance experience (hotel experience preferred), is required. A strong working knowledge of major building systems, including life-safety systems, and good communication skills are essential. Leadership skills and flexibility to work different shifts are also necessary.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; college degree preferred
• Six months of related experience in hospitality or service industry
• One year of maintenance experience
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace
• Ability to interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

Job Responsibilities

• Communicate with Front Desk, Maintenance, Manager, and General Manager regarding urgent grounds-related issues
• Perform daily inspections for maintenance issues
• Maintain exterior landscape lighting
• Perform room touch-ups and repairs, including furniture, fixtures, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
• Assist in ensuring the property complies with city, safety, and ADA codes
• Conduct scheduled maintenance operations (filters, painting, updates, furniture changes)
• Maintain and report on the condition of equipment and tools
• Keep storage areas organized and clean
• Coordinate with Housekeeping regarding room conditions
• Maintain company vehicles under supervisor’s direction
• Assist other staff as needed
• Follow all policies, procedures, and instructions

Working Conditions

• Moderate noise level
• Lift up to 50 pounds; heavier lifts require two persons
• Stand, walk, push, kneel, bend, and reach for up to eight hours daily
