Job summary

The Arboretum in Farmingville, NY is seeking a full-time Maintenance Supervisor to maintain the property's physical integrity and safety. The role requires hands-on oversight of repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance to ensure units are rent-ready and operations run smoothly.

You will manage a maintenance team, handle a department budget, and coordinate with vendors. The position demands 40+ hours weekly, including evenings and weekends, with an hourly pay range of $40-$45.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in property maintenance or equivalent maintenance-related fieldwork.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Hands-on experience with plumbing, carpentry, electrical, heating and air conditioning systems (heat pump experience a plus), swimming pools, landscaping, and cleaning.
• Applicants must furnish their own tools and have transportation to pick up replacement parts and supplies from vendors.
• HVAC-certified and CPO-certified preferred; CAMT preferred and willingness to obtain CAMT upon request.
• Microsoft Office proficiency; Fair Housing certification prior to interaction with prospects or residents.
• Must be willing to travel to pick up replacement parts and supplies; drug and background screening will be conducted.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance of the community and ensure a safe living environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
• Supervise and train a team of maintenance technicians; manage the department budget and seek cost-saving measures.
• Oversee preventative maintenance and timely completion of service requests and repairs; perform hands-on turnkey work and inspections as needed.
