Summary

Responsible for and provides overall supervision of the assigned ancillary service area(s). Areas may include, but are not limited to: safety, environmental services, laundry, maintenance, infection control, and emergency preparedness.

Job Description

Provides leadership and interacts with health system departments, medical staff, patients/residents, and families. Plans, organizes, and coordinates specialized programs in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. Responsible for staff education, developing safety and security standard operating procedures, and ensuring adherence to all applicable guidelines. Serves and/or chairs departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed. Remains current with safety codes and facility regulations.

Demonstrates leadership by serving as a role model, encouraging vision and change projects. Assists in hiring, retaining, and leveraging talent across the service areas. Provides feedback on employee performance and supports staff development. Ensures all areas meet regulatory requirements and quality standards. Maintains current certifications and continuing education. May assist with other projects or work as needed.

Qualifications
  • Associate degree or trade school preferred.
  • Two years’ experience in related ancillary work preferred.
  • Previous leadership/management experience helpful.
  • Maintains necessary certifications and licensure.
  • Valid driver’s license may be required depending on location and must meet medical guidelines for Sanford Health Category III drivers.
