Job summary

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Engineering or equivalent with 3–5 years of manufacturing maintenance experience, or a high school diploma with 5–7 years.
  • Strong technical and leadership skills with ability to motivate and develop others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication to foster cooperation across teams.
  • Problem solver under time pressure and capable of accountability.
  • PLC programming/troubleshooting knowledge is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing tools and 6S; standard work knowledge is helpful.
  • Must have basic computer skills (MS Word/Excel, email, CMMS).
  • Valid driver license required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise maintenance technicians and coordinate daily department activities.
  • Work with production and engineering teams to maximize uptime and safety.
  • Plan, prioritize, and supervise maintenance of all plant equipment and facilities.
  • Interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics for troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with managers and planners to execute preventive maintenance programs.
  • Ensure repairs meet OSHA / EPA regulations and promote safe work practices.
  • Document efficiency improvements and opportunities across the facility.
  • Lead, coach, and develop maintenance staff; assign tasks in the CMMS.
  • Maintain 6S and visual management in all maintenance areas and ensure standardization.
  • Become proficient in Limble CMMS and related tools; manage time and attendance in Kronos.

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for leading the daily operations of the Maintenance Department, including supervising maintenance technicians and machine cleaners to ensure equipment and facility reliability, safety, and efficiency. Oversees preventive and corrective maintenance activities, troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical systems, and coordinating with production and engineering teams to maximize equipment uptime.

Principal Functional Responsibilities
  • Supervise maintenance technicians.
  • Work with production supervisors, production personnel and maintenance personnel to ensure the facility and equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
  • Plan, prioritize, supervise, review and participate in the maintenance of the plant including repair and installation of all electronic, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment.
  • Interpret and use the following for troubleshooting purposes: piping and instrumentation diagrams, equipment drawings, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics.
  • Work closely with Maintenance and Engineering Manager, Maintenance Planner, and Plant Engineer to execute critical PM activities to maximize equipment uptime and improve internal customer service.
  • Ensure repairs and maintenance to equipment and facilities are completed in a safe, efficient manner while strictly adhering to OSHA / EPA regulations.
  • Interact with employees and manufacturing floor supervisors to document efficiency and/or improvement opportunities across the entire facility.
  • Lead, coach, and provide paths for improvement for all Maintenance Department personnel.
  • Assign corrective and preventive maintenance tasks through computerized maintenance management system.
  • Minimize equipment downtime while assuring their safe operation.
  • Ensure 6s, visual management, and standardization of all Maintenance Department areas.
  • Become proficient in our CMMS work order system (Limble).
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement / 6s activities.
  • Maintain time and attendance for direct reports through Kronos.
  • Authorized lock-out tag-out employee.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
  • Associate degree in Engineering or equivalent technical field with 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment or high school diploma with 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment.
  • Strong technical and leadership skills: Ability to lead, motivate and develop others; able to prioritize tasks, coordinate, and direct technicians and teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills: Ability to promote / maintain cooperative relationships among employees, peers and supervisors.
  • Good problem solver: Resilient when facing time sensitive, challenging situations and holds self and others accountable to meet commitments.
  • PLC Programming/Troubleshooting knowledge is beneficial.
  • Full understanding of the LOTO concepts and its application: Method, devices, and instructions used to lockout-tagout machinery.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, technical environment – results oriented Experience with lean manufacturing tools and methodologies including 6s and standardized work is beneficial.
  • Complete understanding of his / her role as an internal customer service liaison.
  • Basic computer skills in the following are required: MS Word, MS Excel, email, and CMMS.
  • Must be willing to learn additional internal software applications.
  • Must have a valid driver license.
