Job summary

Metal Technologies is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to coordinate plant-wide maintenance in a fast-paced foundry environment. You will oversee daily activities, safety, scheduling, and part inventory across a production floor and office.

Requirements include journeyman experience or equivalent, 5 years foundry maintenance, and 3 years supervising staff. Proficiency with Word/Excel and CMMS like AS-400 is a plus. This is a full-time on-site role in Indiana.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent required.
  • Journeyman or equivalent in maintenance preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years foundry maintenance experience.
  • Minimum 3 years supervision experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate plant-wide maintenance activities daily.
  • Supervise and direct all maintenance staff on shifts.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and order materials.
  • Administer preventive maintenance program.
  • Enforce safety policies and company handbook.
  • Collaborate with other shifts and departments to improve efficiency.

Summary
General Summary

Responsible for coordinating the maintenance function plant-wide, on a daily basis, within a skilled trade environment.

Principle Duties And Responsibilities
  • Health and safety of all team members
  • Training, leadership, and direction of all team members on respective shift
  • Complete timely reviews on all team members
  • Administrate computerized time and attendance system.
  • Promote proper work ethic and enforce the Company’s policies, procedures, and practices in the handbook.
  • Maintain an efficient inventory of spare parts on assigned equipment.
  • Direct the ordering of materials, tools, and spare parts.
  • Administer the preventive maintenance program.
  • Prioritize work schedules; plan, organize, and assign tasks and evaluate completed work.
  • Recommend process improvements and other enhancements to increase operating efficiency.
  • Coordinates maintenance functions with other shifts and departments
Knowledge, Skill, And Ability Requirements
  • Ability to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively supervise and instruct employees.
  • Knowledge and ability to utilize a PC and related software applications including Word, Excel, AS-400, etc.
  • Must be able to work in and encourage a team environment and facilitate change when necessary.
  • Ability to effectively organize multiple tasks.
  • Specific knowledge of green sand foundry practices and principles
  • Knowledge and ability to utilize a computerized maintenance management system.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles of industrial related equipment.
Working Conditions
  • The Maintenance Supervisor will reside in the office and on the production floor. Must be able to adhere to conditions of the plant.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time and on their feet 50% on the production floor.
  • Must be able to move about inside the office and in the plant.
  • This position will operate a computer and other machinery in the plant.
  • Must be able to frequently communicate with employees and other individuals in person and telephone.
Education And Experience Requirements
  • Journeyman or equivalent experience in maintenance field preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 5 years of foundry experience or education specifically related to industrial manufacturing maintenance field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supervising and / or directing employees preferred.
