A leading company in the food industry seeks a Maintenance Supervisor for their 1st shift operations. The role involves overseeing maintenance teams, managing preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Ideal candidates will possess supervisory experience, a high school diploma, and strong skills in communication and time management.
Summary: This position coordinates all daily activities of the facility maintenance teams. It is responsible for directing and executing work order requests and overseeing the maintenance of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Partner with Quality Assurance to support all quality programs ensuring the production of safe, quality foods. Direct equipment maintenance, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting performed by maintenance staff. Develop and track preventive maintenance programs, assign work, review scope and frequency, and make adjustments as needed. Determine timing for preventive work orders based on history and recommendations, identify required resources, verify availability, and schedule work accordingly. Estimate job requirements, including staffing and man-hours, and document this in the CMMS. Attend meetings with facility leadership to plan schedules, review work order statuses, and discuss incoming requests. Identify opportunities for process or performance improvements. Ensure all work complies with safety procedures, enforce safety rules, and provide proper training. Maintain professional relationships across all levels of the organization and perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework and vocational training are preferred. 2-5 years of supervisory experience in a maintenance or manufacturing environment. Skills include proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS platforms, strong communication, time management, self-motivation, and willingness to learn.
Relationships: Reports to Maintenance Manager. Works closely with maintenance mechanics, facility leadership, inventory control, and other shop floor employees.
Physical Demands: Regularly sit, stand, walk, reach, stretch, stoop, bend, use hands and fingers, and climb stairs. Must be able to read, write, communicate orally in English, hear, and have color vision. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
