Job summary

Hawes Crossing Village 2 in Mesa, AZ is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee daily maintenance of building and community systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pool equipment, and grounds.

This role requires coordinating with the Community Manager, managing preventative maintenance, and ensuring safety compliance with relevant codes. On-call evenings and weekends are required for emergencies.

Qualifications

  • 3 years in a maintenance role with at least 1 year in a lead position managing maintenance personnel, preferably in HOA/property management.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee maintenance of building systems including mechanical, fire & life safety, elevators, security, pool/spa, common areas, and grounds.
  • Ensure compliance with City, State, Federal, and OSHA codes and permits.
  • Identify maintenance needs and determine courses of action to resolve.
  • Maintain cleanliness of common areas and manage material accountability.
  • Manage Preventative Maintenance schedules and documentation.
  • Coordinate with owners, residents and vendors professionally.
  • Assist with budget processes and on-call emergencies.
  • Support events setup/breakdown and other related duties.

Located in southeast Mesa, Hawes Crossing Village 2 is a vibrant residential community featuring parks, playgrounds, walking paths, a community pool, pickleball courts, fitness facilities, and open spaces.

We’re looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to help keep this community running at its best. This role oversees the performance, maintenance, and day-to-day care of essential building and community systems, including mechanical, fire and life safety, elevators, security, pool/spa, common areas, and grounds.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Partners with the Community Manager to maintain building systems and common elements to expected standards.
  • Responsible for overseeing compliance with City, State, Federal, and OSHA, code, and permit requirements.
  • Responsible for identifying maintenance needs throughout the community and course of action to resolve.
  • Ensures the cleanliness of common areas by performing general area clean-up after routine maintenance or projects, maintaining a tidy environment, and ensuring proper material accountability.
  • Responsible for Preventative Maintenance schedules including performance, scheduling, review, record keeping and performs regular maintenance on all building systems per Preventative Maintenance schedule.
  • Proactive in identifying maintenance needs, repairs, and bid process to ensure work is completed in timely manner.
  • Interacts with owners, residents, and vendors in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintenance and servicing of golf cart(s), as needed.
  • Assists the Community Manager with the budget process.
  • First point of contact for on-call emergencies – evenings and weekends.
  • Assists with set up and break down for community events.
  • Performs other related duties as directed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, pool equipment, pool chemicals, painting, dry wall, welding, and any other maintenance skills necessary to complete work orders.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form; maintain work logs; establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work assignments.
  • Ability to gather information, analyze, seek input, and make sound decisions.
  • Exceptional customer service and follow-through skills.
  • Familiar with maintenance contracts and working with outside vendors.
  • General knowledge and understanding of budget management.
  • High attention to detail.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Works indoors and outdoors.
  • Requires physical ability to stand for long periods, climb stairs and ladders, squat and bend.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, in crowded areas and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work on uneven surfaces, in hot, cold, and wet conditions, climb and stand on ladders and scaffolding at heights of up to 50 feet.
  • Able to handle various manual and power tools.
  • May work independently or as part of a team.
  • Clean, well-kept appearance and attire.

Education

High School or better.

Experience
3 years:

Experience working in a maintenance role with a minimum of one (1) year of experience in a lead capacity managing maintenance personnel, preferably within an HOA or property management environment. Valid Driver’s License.
