Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead day-to-day activities for light/medium wheeled vehicle maintenance within a U.S. government contract environment. You will supervise mechanics, manage readiness, and ensure safety and quality compliance.

Candidates should have 8+ years in motor transport maintenance with at least 2 years in supervision, plus training or coursework aligned to a mechanical engineering discipline. U.S. citizenship and a Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

  • Must pass a U.S. Government background investigation and obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizen required for eligibility.
  • Associate’s degree and/or course work towards a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline preferred.
  • In lieu of a degree, combination of college credits, other formal training, and related work experience may be considered.
  • Must have 8 years of directly related work experience, including 2 years of supervisory experience in a motor transport environment.
  • Must have completed the motor transport maintenance officer course, or equivalent.
  • Ability to review and apply technical specifications and requirements.
  • Ability to analyze equipment and forecast spare parts.
  • Ability to analyze maintenance repair or operation to determine methods of improvement.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • USMC MOS 3510 or 3529 or Army MOS 91X or 91Z preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and lead day-to-day activities of one or more departmental or functional activities.
  • Implement training requirements and monitor employee performance.
  • Establish production standards, monitor compliance, and recommend operational improvements.
  • Assist the manager in accomplishing short- and long-term departmental goals.
  • Supervise and coordinate mechanics performing inspection, maintenance, and repair of light/medium wheeled vehicles.
  • Supervise mechanics repairing, adjusting, servicing, and storing motor vehicles.
  • Manage equipment readiness, maintenance shop organization, and maintenance assets.
  • Provide advice on light/medium wheeled vehicle maintenance matters.
  • Ensure mechanics are properly trained in maintenance functions.
  • Assign work based on priority and equipment quantity to optimize equipment, facilities, and personnel.
  • Maintain inventory of repair parts and equipment and requisition replacement stock.
  • Inspect work for compliance with specifications and schedules.
  • Interpret specifications, drawings, work orders, technical instructions, and layouts.
  • Coordinate department activities with other departments.
  • Ensure compliance with administrative policies, procedures, governmental regulations, safety requirements, and MCPP ISO-9002 policies.
  • Supervise and manage workspace administration for motor transport equipment repair.
  • Recommend procedural changes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
