Job summary

Destrooper Bisuits in Belgium is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead the technical team in our production environment. You will develop and execute the machine maintenance plan, ensuring safety, quality, and HACCP/GMP compliance.

You will organize, coach, and motivate a team of 10 technicians, coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance, and collaborate with production and engineering to drive improvements. Fluency in Dutch, French and English is required.

• Initial management experience, preferably in the food industry.

What you do

As a Maintenance Supervisor, you'll be responsible for organizing, directing, and monitoring the daily activities of the technical team within our production environment. You'll ensure that all maintenance work is carried out efficiently, safely, and in accordance with food industry quality standards. You'll play a key role in motivating and coaching your team, and you're an expert at supporting people through change. You'll ensure that the machine maintenance plan is developed, scheduled, and executed.

Core tasks and responsibilities

• Planning, coordinating and monitoring preventive and curative maintenance.
• Daily management of the technical team (10 technicians).
• Ensure that the necessary spare parts are ordered.
• Ensure efficient division of labor and prioritization.
• Follow-up of work performed and technical reporting.
• Attention to safety, hygiene and quality in accordance with food industry guidelines (HACCP, GMP, etc.).
• Identify areas for improvement in processes and participate in optimization projects.
• Coaching and developing employees, including providing support during change processes.
• Work constructively with production, engineering and other support services.
• Report to the Maintenance Manager on performance, problems, and actions.

Who you are

• You have a bachelor's degree in electromechanics or equivalent through experience.
• You also have at least initial management experience, ideally within the food industry (not a must, just a plus).
• You are described as strong in organizing, maintaining an overview and setting the right priorities.
• You're a real people person.
• You know how to motivate your team, are a clear communicator, and know how to strike the right balance when leading this team.
• You're confident and able to handle resistance.
• You know how to navigate the challenges that come with change in a constructive way.
• You are hands‑on and have a problem‑solving approach.
• You have a fluent knowledge of Dutch, French and English.
• Experience with maintenance systems (e.g., SAP PM, Ultimo, or other CMMS) is a plus.
• You are eager to learn, challenge working methods, and are constantly seeking improvement.
