Job Purpose:

The Maintenance Supervisor plays a critical hands-on role in the day-to-day upkeep and functionality of the hotel's physical assets. Focused on preventative maintenance and immediate repairs, the Maintenance Supervisor ensures that guest areas, back-of-house spaces, and equipment are maintained in excellent working order. Through leadership, technical expertise, and an unwavering commitment to quality, the Maintenance Supervisor helps uphold the property's aesthetic standards, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction.

This role bridges leadership and front-line maintenance operations, with a focus on troubleshooting, performing repairs, and overseeing a small team of general maintenance technicians.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

L ead the daily operations of the maintenance team to ensure timely response to guest room repairs, public area needs, and preventive maintenance schedules.

Execute hands-on maintenance and repair tasks across multiple trades, including minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and painting work.

Monitor, assign, and prioritize maintenance work orders in coordination with housekeeping, front desk, and food & beverage teams to minimize guest disruption.

Perform regular walk-throughs of the property to identify repair needs and aesthetic deficiencies, ensuring proactive resolution.

Oversee inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies; coordinate procurement needs and maintain accurate records.

Train, coach, and develop maintenance team members to ensure high-quality work and adherence to safety standards.

Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing compliance with OSHA regulations and property safety protocols.

Communicate effectively with leadership regarding major repairs, project updates, and resource needs.

Collaborate with the Chief Engineer on preventive maintenance programs and assist in capital improvement projects as needed.

Participate in on-call rotation to respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies.

Perform any additional relevant tasks requested by management.

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification in trades preferred.

Minimum 3 years of hands-on general maintenance experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team lead capacity.

Previous hotel or hospitality industry experience strongly preferred.

Ability to work efficiently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work at a productive pace without sacrificing quality.

Professional Characteristics :

Solid working knowledge of hotel maintenance systems and equipment, including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and kitchen systems.

Hands-on mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to lead and motivate a small maintenance team while working collaboratively with other departments.

Strong organizational and prioritization skills; ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Proficient in use of basic technology platforms (work order systems, Microsoft Office suite).

Commitment to upholding the property's brand standards and delivering a seamless guest experience.

Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Comfortable with physically demanding tasks.

Scheduling & Travel:

This is a full-time, on-site leadership role that requires schedule flexibility, including availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed. Occasional travel to attend company meetings, training, or off-site events may be required.
