Job summary

ADP, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor in Sanford, FL to oversee maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and other building systems.

You will lead a technical team, assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure safety and GMP compliance to drive operational excellence across shifts. You will manage labor and material costs, coordinate with contractors, and utilize the CMMS to track work orders while maintaining production schedules.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance with at least 2 years supervising a crew.
  • Knowledge of production line maintenance including PLCs, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic power.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others.
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills.
  • Food manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Refrigeration experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises a team of maintenance personnel to meet production schedules while controlling costs.
  • Train and develop associates; provide coaching and set clear expectations.
  • Provide information and resources to help the team solve problems; communicate policies and performance.
  • Document incidents that warrant disciplinary action.
  • Drafts schedules, coordinates vacations, and manages supply requests.
  • Guide the team to reduce technical stoppages in equipment.
  • Review processes and utilities critical to safe operation and compliance.
  • Monitor plant and equipment trends to reduce downtime.
  • Set and monitor maintenance KPIs per best practices.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors and field technicians.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
  • Implement preventative maintenance to extend equipment life.
  • Ensure safety devices, SOPs, and LOTO procedures are used.
  • Participate in maintenance and engineering budgeting.
  • Review weekly maintenance schedules and assign work.
  • Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns.
  • Maintain accurate histories in work orders.
  • Foster cross-department communication and relations.
  • Additional responsibilities as required.

SUMMARY

The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), carpentry, painting, and other building systems.

As a Maintenance Supervisor, where you will play a vital role in driving operational excellence across departments and shifts. In this position, you will provide technical leadership and support, empowering your team to succeed by assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and ensuring they have the right tools, supplies, and equipment at their disposal. Safety is our top priority, and you will be instrumental in promoting a safe work environment while ensuring adherence to safe work practices. You will proactively address personnel, mechanical, and resource-related challenges to maintain productivity and boost team morale. By ensuring compliance with company policies, Maintenance and Quality procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), you will help uphold our high standards. You will guide your team toward achieving safety and productivity goals, manage labor and material costs, and oversee work orders using the CMMS and shift handoff documentation.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Supervises a team of maintenance personnel to ensure that all systems operate at their highest capability to meet required production schedules, quality, costs, and schedule priorities.
  • Train and develop associates. Clearly explain and check to make sure others understand expectations. Build confidence in associates and provide one on one as well as team coaching.
  • Provide information and resources to the team to make decisions and solve problems. Keeps team members apprised regarding administrative matters, policy, procedures, team/department performance, and other work-related matters that affect them through team meetings, shift start-up meetings, and one‑on‑one contacts.
  • Documents incidents that warrant disciplinary action.
  • Drafts procedures, schedule team members work schedules, schedules vacations. Fills out supply requests, maintenance requests, and other administrative forms.
  • Guide the team to reduce technical stoppages in equipment or areas of common occurrence (priority given to areas of highest incidence or impact).
  • Ensure systematic review of all processes, and utilities that are critical to the operation and those where failure can have an unacceptable impact on safety, personnel safety, food safety, environment, or compliance with the law.
  • Monitor plant/equipment trends to ensure best operation and reduction of planned/unplanned downtime.
  • Propose and monitor key performance indicators in accordance with the Best Maintenance Practices.
  • Works with and supervises outside contractors and field service technicians.
  • Participates in the continuous improvement of the manufacturing process through equipment improvement modifications.
  • Implements preventative maintenance procedures that are cost effective and increase the operational life of the equipment.
  • Ensures that safety devices, SOP’s, and Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures are utilized on new and existing equipment.
  • Participates in the maintenance and engineering budgetary process.
  • Review weekly maintenance schedule.
  • Review and assign work to maintenance employees.
  • Ensure prompt repairs by responding to emergency breakdowns.
  • Ensure accurate recorded histories in work order completions.
  • Promote communication as well as good relations between all departments and the maintenance departments.
  • Additional responsibilities as required.
Knowledge, Skills, & abilities recommended skills for this position
  • 5 years of experience working in industrial maintenance and at least two years supervising an industrial maintenance crew.
  • Must have knowledge of production line maintenance including PLC’s, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic power.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others.
  • Fluent in coaching, problem solving.
  • Strong communication and ability to interact and influence a diverse group of people.
  • Food manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Refrigeration experience is preferred.
