Job Description: Maintenance Shop Supervisor at Old Dominion Freight Line

This role involves supervising all aspects of our shop facility, including team management, heavy equipment maintenance, and ensuring compliance with DOT standards. The ideal candidate will possess decision-making skills, effective time management, and a collaborative spirit.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and evaluate shop operations for safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Research new maintenance technologies for heavy-duty vehicles.
• Schedule and assign work tasks.
• Manage manpower during peak periods.
• Audit work orders and monitor work habits to enhance productivity.
• Assist in developing a paperless environment, including barcoding.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping.
• Train employees to improve their skills and knowledge.
• Ensure high customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with parts and shop managers for timely repairs.
• Provide guidance and direction to team members.
• Coordinate with warranty administrators.
• Assist in budget formation and management.
• Recruit and retain skilled shop employees.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Supervisor experience preferred.

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday, PM shift. Please note that work days and shifts are subject to change based on operational needs.
