Job summary

Apple Rehab Rocky Hill in Connecticut is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep our facility running smoothly. You will maintain and repair plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry and grounds, and you’ll help plan efficient task schedules.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, a cooperative team attitude, and a patient, proactive approach toward residents and staff. This part-time 24-hour position offers a supportive, community-focused environment with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a hospital or long term care facility preferred.
• Experience with routine plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry and grounds keeping tasks, including painting and snow shoveling.
• Valid drivers’ license and safe driving record.
• Cooperative team player with ability to work with others.
• Patient, tactful and positive attitude toward residents and their families.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair the facility's physical plant and its various systems, including plumbing, electrical, structural, and equipment.
• Safely operate equipment, power, and hand tools to carry out maintenance tasks effectively.
• Advise appropriate facility personnel of any potential shut-downs, enabling the staff to provide alternate plans for the continuation of operations.
• Plan efficient use of time to complete tasks promptly and effectively.
• Cooperate with all other staff members to minimize disruption to the facility's operations.
• Inspect the facility regularly and report any needed repairs promptly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Job Description
