Job description

This Maintenance/Construction Technician III position is assigned to the NC Correction Enterprises Nash Print Plant.This position is responsible for training and supervision of offenders in the maintenance and/or repair of a variety of commercial printing equipment, and building maintenance, including mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. This position will inspect and maintain all safety equipment such as: fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems, fire hoses, and smoke detectors. Additionally, they will complete and manage safety reports. The maintenance mechanic must also have knowledge of carpentry skills, welding, machine shop skills, and grounds keeping. This position will supervise the plant preventative maintenance programs. All these skills are needed to keep a large volume printing facility producing efficiently.

  • Documented knowledge of experience in repair and maintenance of industrial equipment and facilities, such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing and/or HVAC.

  • Documented ability to train and supervise unskilled or entry-level workers.

  • Documented efficiency with various safety programs

  • Proven have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated organizational skills such as managing schedules, maintaining records, and timely completion of tasks.

Management Preference

  • 5 years' experience in an industrial maintenance role.

  • Knowledge of state purchasing policies and NCDAC security are a plus.
