The Planet Group is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead a skilled maintenance team in a high-volume food manufacturing facility. You will drive reliability, coach staff, and collaborate with Operations to support safe, efficient production.

The ideal candidate brings strong maintenance leadership, GMP knowledge, and a track record of managing maintenance teams in food production environments to deliver continuous improvement and high plant uptime.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing maintenance.
  • Previous food manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of food safety requirements and GMPs.
  • Experience creating and maintaining SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and PMs (Preventive Maintenance).
  • Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance leadership in a food production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily activities of the maintenance team in a high-volume facility.
  • Drive equipment reliability and maintenance planning to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Plant Leadership to ensure safe and efficient production.
  • Coach, mentor and develop maintenance personnel; hold employees accountable.
  • Promote safety and continuous improvement initiatives across shifts.

Job description

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily activities of the maintenance team in a high-volume food manufacturing facility. This position oversees maintenance personnel, drives equipment reliability, ensures compliance with food safety standards, and partners with operations to support safe and efficient production. The ideal candidate combines strong maintenance leadership with food manufacturing experience and the ability to coach, develop, and hold employees accountable.

Required Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing maintenance
  • Previous food manufacturing experience strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Food safety requirements
  • GMPs
  • Maintenance practices within a food production environment
  • Experience supervising maintenance personnel and leading teams
  • Strong mechanical maintenance background
  • Experience creating and maintaining:
  • SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)
  • PMs (Preventive Maintenance procedures)
  • Experience with CMMS systems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Boiler systems experience
