Job summary

Fountain View at Logan Square is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to uphold a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained living environment for residents. The role focuses on routine rounds, repairs, and coordination with staff in a healthcare setting.

The position is full-time with schedules Mon-Fri (3 pm–11 pm or 11 pm–7 am). Experience in skilled nursing facilities is preferred, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of general maintenance experience.
• Skilled nursing facility experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of safety procedures and maintenance best practices.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily rounds to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Perform minor plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and cosmetic repairs.
• Review maintenance request logs and complete work orders promptly.
• Collaborate with staff to improve resident living spaces and facility environment.
• Assist with furniture moves, equipment repairs, and general maintenance projects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues promptly to support resident safety and comfort.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards and facility policies.

Responsibilities For Maintenance Assistant

• Complete daily physical rounds throughout the facility to identify and address maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Perform minor plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and cosmetic repairs to facility systems and equipment.
• Review maintenance request logs regularly and complete work orders accurately and promptly.
• Collaborate with staff to support improvements in resident living spaces and overall facility environment.
• Assist with furniture moves, equipment repairs, and general maintenance projects as assigned.
• Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues promptly and efficiently to support resident safety and comfort.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety standards, facility policies, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications For Maintenance Assistant

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One (3) or more years of general maintenance experience required (painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, or related trades).
• Skilled nursing facility experience preferred.
• Basic understanding of safety procedures and maintenance best practices.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
