Job summary

Channellock, Inc is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance department, ensuring quality parts and minimal downtime. You will lead maintenance staff, coordinate with the Director of Facilities, and manage preventive maintenance and equipment installations.

Responsibilities include scheduling, training, safety promotion, and utilizing CMMS to track work orders and parts. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills to keep production on schedule.

Qualifications

  • Supervise and train maintenance staff as directed by the Maintenance supervisor.
  • Repair and maintain equipment to maximize availability.
  • Identify and train maintenance personnel as directed by supervisor.
  • Work with outside vendors on repairs and rebuilds.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects with strong organizational skills.
  • Maintain basic computer literacy for daily operations.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, schedule, train, and manage maintenance personnel as directed by the Director of Facilities and Maintenance.
  • Make necessary repairs, inventory spare parts, log downtime, and assist with training, preventive maintenance, trouble shooting, and equipment installations.
  • Effectively utilize CMMS to open/close Work Orders, enter & review time entry, reference spare parts inventory, and place purchase requisitions.
  • Repair and maintain all equipment to maximum machine available time.
  • Promote safety at all times and assist in improving working conditions for all associates.
  • Follow ISO procedures and recommend changes when necessary.
  • Make recommendations for continuous improvement in order to improve productivity.
  • Assign trained associates to repairs and Preventative Maintenance programs according to priority to maintain the planned production schedule and reduce downtime.
  • Monitor and follow-up on work performed to ensure timeliness and correctness.
  • Assist and support the Maintenance Department in repair and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain all CNC and PLC based equipment in proper working order.

Description

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the operation of his or her department, utilizing the materials, personnel, machines, money and methods available to produce quality parts in the quantities necessary, in the time specified. The supervisor may delegate areas of authority to his/her assistant/relief as necessary by area or by shift, but total responsibility remains with the department Supervisor.


Essential Job Functions:


  • Identify, schedule, train, and manage maintenance personnel as so directed by the Director of Facilities and Maintenance.

  • Make necessary repairs, inventory spare parts, log down time, and assist with training, preventive maintenance, trouble shooting, and equipment installations.

Required Abilities/Skills


  • All supervisors are to be competent in the areas of his/her department and be able to provide training to all associates in this area. Training may be delegated to qualified associates at the discretion of the supervisor.

  • Repair and maintain all equipment to maximize availability.

  • Make necessary repairs, inventory spare parts, log down time, assist with training, preventive maintenance, trouble shooting, equipment installations, and or repairs.

  • Identify and train maintenance personnel as so directed by the Maintenance supervisor.

  • Work with outside vendors as needed on repairs and rebuilds.

  • All Supervisors must possess strong interpersonal skills in a participative management environment. He or she must be aggressive in pursuing a program of continuous improvement in the search of a better way to make a quality product more efficiently.

  • Basic computer skills are required in normal routine daily operations

  • Ability to prioritize and handle many diverse projects and issues simultaneously; ability to deal with important issues that can have a significant impact on the long-term success of the Company.

  • Must be organized and deadline oriented and have strong verbal communication skills.

  • Must be able to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds or less
