Key Job Elements
- Supervises a team of maintenance technicians and supervisors; schedules and oversees all maintenance-related work;
- Ensures all maintenance operations are done within company policies and in accordance with OSHA guidelines;
- Ensures facility satisfies all industry regulations;
- Seeks out and identifies new methods, tools, and assets for improving productivity and cutting costs;
- Coordinate’s completion of complex repair projects;
- Keeps track of ongoing maintenance work, troubleshoots issues, and keeps teams on track;
- Maintains knowledge of changing technologies and resources;
- Interviews, hires, manages, and takes care of other HR-related duties for maintenance staff;
- Provides upkeep and continuous improvement for the facility;
- Manages all facility maintenance, including reactive repairs, employee requests, and preventative maintenance per schedule;
- Provides oversight of contracted support services: housekeeping, grounds and landscaping, snow removal, elevator support, vehicle maintenance, etc.;
- Performs additional job-related duties as assigned.
Essential and Physical Activities Functions:
- Strength – Position typically involves work in an industrial environment. Frequent standing, sitting, and walking. Work level ranges from light to occasional very heavy-level lifting (50+ pounds);
- Motion – Position regularly requires standard motions associated with leading and demonstrating in an industrial environment. Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and handling;
- Vision/Hearing Requirements – Constant verbal communications, including both talking and hearing;
- Work Environment – Position is Safety Sensitive and will require the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Position may involve work in a non-temperature-controlled environment. Position is located in an industrial environment, including frequent potential for noise (85+ decibels), exposure to extreme temperatures, exposure to hazardous materials, heavy equipment, atmospheric exposure, and other hazardous working conditions;
- Emotional Demands – High level of responsibility. Responsible for supervision of the maintenance mission. Requires significant interpersonal skills while sustaining very high standards;
- Safety – Position is Safety sensitive and will require the use of Personal Protective Equipment.
Education / Training
- High school graduate with some college preferred.
Qualifications And Experience
- 5-7+ years of experience working in a team environment, supervising and training technicians, overseeing repairs, managing budgets, inventory control, and scheduling day-to-day activities;
- Familiarity and current knowledge of NFPA standards and building codes;
- Ability to work together in a team environment; ability to manage a diverse workforce;
- Computer skills, including proficiency with Excel and other MS Office tools.
