Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for a fully onsite contract position in Montgomery, AL. You will oversee preventive and corrective maintenance on data center equipment, ensure compliance with NEC and industry standards, and lead a small team to maintain uptime.

Responsibilities include coordinating maintenance schedules, documenting activities, and ensuring startups and inspections meet specifications. Compensation ranges $40–$50/hr with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Ability to read diagrams, manuals, and engineering specifications.
  • Experience leading a team of 3 or more.
  • OSHA 30, CPR/First Aid, NFPA 70E certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive and corrective maintenance requirements.
  • Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions and comply with NEC standards on wiring and installations.
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and using precision measuring tools.
  • Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, and alignment equipment.
  • Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques.
  • Optimize maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting actions and communicating irregularities.
  • Manage communication plan protocols and reporting procedures, including daily and weekly communication, emails, and virtual meetings.
  • Adhere to commissioning plan and manage the schedule of commissioning activities integrated with the project schedule.
  • Verify proper installation of equipment and components.
  • Confirm compliance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
  • Conduct equipment startup checklists and verify proper startup procedures are followed.
  • Document initial operating parameters and identify any startup issues.
  • Manage issue log and perform root cause analysis.
  • Recommend corrective actions and review proposed corrective actions from contractors.
  • Verify implemented solutions and conduct final system verification and documentation.

As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will ensure the efficient operation of machinery and mechanical equipment through preventive and corrective maintenance. Essential Skills
  • Mechanical, Electrical, and Troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with repair, service, and preventive maintenance.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading and hand tool usage.
  • Experience with HVAC, electrical troubleshooting, and field service.
  • Ability to handle construction and installation tasks.
  • Completion of a certificate or diploma in a related field.
  • Experience with industrial and mechanical systems, preferably cooling systems.
  • Thorough working knowledge of industrial and mechanical equipment.
  • Flexibility to work off-hours and overtime depending on the construction schedule.
  • Experience in managing and leading a team of 3 or more.
  • Excellent communication skills, both electronic/virtual and written.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Completion of an industrial apprenticeship program is a plus.
  • Construction site experience required, data center familiarity preferred.
  • Self-motivated, responsible, and safety-oriented individual.
  • Proficiency in standard tools and techniques for problem-solving.
  • Demonstrates a positive 'can-do' attitude.
  • Willingness to lead while working alongside direct reports.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
