Compensation: $85,000 to $105,000 annually, plus bonus
Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations for a fast-paced food and beverage manufacturing facility in Modesto, California. This individual will oversee maintenance technicians on either the swing or graveyard shift and ensure production equipment and facility systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong troubleshooting skills, experience supervising maintenance teams, and a background in food and beverage manufacturing or another high-speed production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians assigned to the shift
- Assign daily work, establish priorities, and ensure maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated production equipment
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and work closely with production to restore operations
- Identify recurring equipment issues and implement long-term corrective actions
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, parts usage, and equipment history within the CMMS
- Coordinate with production, quality, sanitation, and other departments to support plant goals
- Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, food safety standards, GMPs, and company safety procedures
- Support continuous improvement projects, equipment installations, and facility upgrades
- Monitor spare-parts inventory and communicate critical supply needs
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Three or more years of industrial maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience
- Food and beverage manufacturing experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Experience troubleshooting conveyors, packaging equipment, motors, pumps, gearboxes, and automated production machinery
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS platforms
- Ability to read schematics, manuals, and technical drawings
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work a swing or graveyard shift, including occasional weekends or overtime as operational needs require
- Technical degree, certification, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
