Viaflex, Inc. in Midland, TX is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance department, ensure production equipment reliability, and drive safety and continuous improvement initiatives.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree in a technical field and at least 5 years of related experience. Strong leadership, schematics literacy, and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; minimum 5 years related experience or equivalent combination.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical systems is essential.
• Ability to read schematics and manuals; proficient with hand tools and test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Direct, supervise, and coordinate maintenance department activities.
• Ensure adequate service coverage for production needs.
• Oversee the predictive maintenance program.
• Order and maintain parts inventory.
• Assist with equipment installation or repair as needed.
• Design or modify equipment, jigs, fixtures, and tooling.
• Provide training to team members and ensure understanding of duties.
• Maintain safety and ergonomics standards across the work area.
• Oversee staffing and performance reviews; participate in salary planning.
• Promote continuous improvement and ISO quality management practices.

Maintenance Supervisor

SUMMARY:

Direct, supervise, and coordinate functions of the maintenance department. Contributes to a positive, team-oriented atmosphere and encourages good work habits.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Supervise maintenance services of all tools, equipment, and machines used within the division.
• Ensure service coverage is adequate for production needs.
• Oversee the predictive maintenance program.
• Order and maintain parts and supplies inventory.
• Assist with equipment and machine installation or repair, as necessary.
• Designs or modifies equipment, jigs, fixtures, and tooling.
• Responsible for assuring team members receive training needed for their position.
• Ensure team members have a strong understanding of their job responsibilities.
• Coordinate efforts to ensure proper safety and ergonomics standards and guidelines are met in work area.
• Ensure staffing requirements are met.
• Encourage team member growth and development.
• Demonstrates the Viaflex Team Member Values in their daily actions and encourages their teams to do the same.
• Administer annual team member performance reviews, goal setting, and participate in salary planning process.
• Maintain records on direct reports in relation to attendance and performance.
• May lead or contribute to department improvement initiatives.
• May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed.
• Learning, understanding, continuously improving, and promoting the division’s quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Associate degree in technical field. Minimum 5 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Comprehensive knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical systems. Ability to read schematics and interpret equipment manuals. Ability to use various hand tools and test equipment. Proficiency with a computer. Demonstrated leadership skills. Ability to coach, mentor, and empower team members to succeed. High level of patience and service. Ability to motivate team members. Problem-solving abilities. Ability to identify waste and creatively look for solutions. Ability to be flexible and multitask. Ability to maintain accurate records. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff. Depending on division, forklift certification is required. Annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check required. Refer to Viaflex Vehicle Operations Policy CS-13 for guidelines.
