Job summary

APAC Mississippi, Inc., a CRH company, is seeking a seasoned project supervisor for road construction in the Memphis area. You will oversee paving crews, ensure safety and schedule, and manage multiple projects to meet cost targets.

The role requires a college degree and 5+ years in road construction with prior supervisory experience, strong math/grading knowledge, and excellent communication. Willingness to travel, work long hours, and oversee project work outside standard hours are expected.

Qualifications

• College degree is required and 5+ years of experience in road construction.
• Prior supervisory experience is preferred, with ability to motivate personnel.
• Strong understanding of grades/drainage, mathematical skills, and fast-paced work capability.
• Ability to multitask, communicate effectively, and work with internal and external stakeholders.
• Willingness to work long hours and travel to assigned projects as needed.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health & safety standards by complying with legislation and company policies.
• Oversee, schedule, and direct all facets of paving/road construction projects.
• Be responsible for profit and loss on assigned projects.
• Maintain communications with subcontractors, owners and government officials.
• Monitor cost and status of operations, supervise paperwork flow and reporting.
• Assist progress of projects and coordinate with shop on maintenance/repairs.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure Health & Safety standards are met by complying with legislation, company policies and promoting a safe work environment.
• Work with the crews while overseeing, scheduling, and directing all facets of a specific or multiple paving and road construction project (s).
• Responsible for profit and loss on all assigned project s.
• Must establish and maintain communications and a working relationship with subcontractors, owners and government officials.
• Know the status and cost of the various operations on your project (s).
• Supervise and approve the paperwork flow, such as timesheets, daily reports, and tickets.
• Assist in any way possible within your capacity to progress the work on the project (s).
• Maintain communication with the shop concerning equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Establish a long-term plan for each project to allow taking advantage of equipment availability and to coordinate with other ongoing project s company-wide.
• Maintain an up-to-date balance on all quantities for your project s.
• Manage administrative duties in a timely manner.

Education/Experience

• College degree is required, and 5+ years of experience in road construction.
• Prior supervisory experience is preferred, including the ability to motivate personnel to achieve results.
• Strong understanding of grades/drainage, mathematical skills and can work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to effectively multitask.
• Effective, courteous, and professional communication skills required with internal and external stakeholders.
• Willingness to work long hours and travel to assigned project s as needed.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to oversee and be available as needed for project s that perform work outside of standard daytime working hours (i.e. night work).
• Valid Driver's License
