Job summary

Vehicle Service Group, a Dover company, in Madison, IN seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee installation, repair and preventive maintenance of facilities and equipment. You will supervise technicians, manage safety programs, and coordinate with MRO for parts and inventory while supporting engineering and quality teams.

You will supervise daily activities, train staff, conduct safety appraisals, and ensure compliance with OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising maintenance teams in industrial settings.

Essential Job Functions Include

Direct accountability for overseeing Installation, repair, and maintenance activities of all facilities, and infrastructure machinery and systems necessary for the daily operations. Assist as needed with the activities of Safety and other related environmental tasks. Provide supervision and direction to the Maintenance Technicians. Maintain and issues daily job assignments, record and evaluate the results of Preventative Maintenance information. Provide assistance to departments requiring Maintenance support needs. Provide assistance to Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Quality as it relates Maintenance resource needs. Develop and maintain schedules of Maintenance planed work and maintains records that ensure that all equipment will be kept maintained and serviced. Assists with safety inspections and audits along with action plans. Ensure all employees have a safe environment in that all hazards, unsafe actions, or unsafe conditions have been identified, corrected, and/or eliminated. Enforce safety rules, policies, and procedures consistently, and respond to and investigate all reports of accidents or injuries in a timely manner. Thoroughly train new employees, correct or commend employee's health and safety performance, and conduct adequate performance appraisals by evaluating an employee's safety performance. Display a positive attitude towards safety and lead by example that will result in a safe and healthful workplace for all who work at Vehicle Service Group. Ensures that Health, Safety, and Environmental standards are adhered to in accordance to Occupational Health & Safety Act. Work with MRO Team on spare parts activities which include inventory control, inventory reorder points, minimum/maximum stock quantities, and parts ordering. Ensure that spare parts material requirements are readily available to support Maintenance activities and the manufacturing operation, including shutdowns, CAPEX and special projects. Contact vendors for pricing, availability and delivery timelines. Work with MRO Team to Expedite delivery of equipment repair materials to support emergency situations. Assist MRO Team obsolete inventory removal and reconcile inventory values. Maintain inventory accuracies through an established cycle count policy and procedures. Analyze and solve equipment part issues dealing with component interchangeability and premature failure by locating and establishing alternate suppliers. Other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

• Education: Associate Degree with a minimum of two years supervisor experience and one year MRO inventory management preferred or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. A high level of analytical ability is required to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Spare parts management experience, ideally with operational CMMS inventory system. Working knowledge of Maintenance repair procedures related to evaluation of MRO components to determine the most economical means of repair or replacement. Strong electrical, mechanical and problem‑solving skills. • Must be proficient with computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and database software.
• Excellent verbal and written skills required. Must have high level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and present information to suppliers, management, employees, and co‑workers.
• Experience: Must be able to read and understand electrical, hydraulic and mechanical schematics and apply them to repair equipment and to order necessary parts. Must be able to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, PLC, and relay logic controls.
• Supervision: Reports to Maintenance Engineer or Maintenance Manager for job assignments and instructions. Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Responsibility: Exercises High degree of judgment. Questionable matters referred to the Maintenance Manager for assistance.
