Job description

Full-time position available with the Water Department, Water Supply-Treatment Division, located at 1 NW Briarcliff Rd.

Salary Range: $29.92-$44.97/hour

Normal Work Days/Hours: Tuesday-Friday 6:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

1. Supervise and participate in maintenance and repair activities, requiring familiarity with building maintenance and mechanical trades.
2. Manage a team of mechanics and maintenance workers, assign tasks, and ensure record-keeping.
3. Handle projects, coaching, and training as needed.
4. Schedule and supervise maintenance crews at water plants and pump stations; inspect equipment for repairs.
5. Respond to repairs and breakdowns, performing or assisting in repairs to restore operations promptly.
6. Maintain all water treatment plant and pump station equipment.
7. Procure tools, materials, and equipment for repairs and maintenance.
8. Read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics for troubleshooting.
9. Hands-on experience with low-pressure steam boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, electrical, and welding is preferred.
10. Ensure proper use of preventative maintenance programs.
11. Maintain compliance with OSHA, HAZCOM, EPA, and other regulations, including documentation.
12. Possess excellent verbal, written, and computer skills.
13. Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRES high school graduation and 5 years of experience in mechanical and trades maintenance, including at least 1 year at the Maintenance Mechanic level. Must pass pre-employment drug screening and physical exam.
