Job summary

HireLevel is partnering with a long-standing St. Louis manufacturer to fill a Maintenance Supervisor role in Jennings, MO.

This onsite leadership position oversees maintenance operations, directs a maintenance team, and supports equipment reliability and facility upkeep. The role requires hands-on supervision, scheduling preventative maintenance, coordinating with production, and ensuring safety and GMP compliance while reporting to upper management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent maintenance leadership experience considered
  • Must have at least 2 years of Maintenance experience as well as supervisor role
  • Extensive maintenance and equipment knowledge with a strong background in manufacturing environments; food manufacturing experience preferred
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience managing maintenance personnel
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs, facility systems, and industrial equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance documentation
  • Experience managing vendors, contractors, and maintenance purchasing activities
  • Strong communication, team-building, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, professionalism, attendance, and dependability
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs., stand, walk, bend, and perform physical maintenance activities as needed
  • Comfortable working in wet, noisy manufacturing environments while adhering to PPE and GMP requirements
  • Must meet requirements of background and drug screening policies

Responsibilities

  • Oversee repair, installation, maintenance, and upkeep of production equipment and facility systems
  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate daily maintenance activities to ensure safety and efficiency
  • Schedule, track, and follow up on preventative and corrective maintenance
  • Serve as hands-on supervisor, assisting with troubleshooting and repairs as needed
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and facility issues to minimize downtime
  • Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs to improve reliability
  • Coach and develop team members; address performance matters
  • Coordinate with production and management to prioritize needs
  • Work with vendors and contractors to source parts and services
  • Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and documentation
  • Lead special projects and other assignments from upper management

Responsibilities of Maintenance Supervisor:
  • Oversee the repair, installation, maintenance, and upkeep of production equipment, machinery, and facility systems
  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently
  • Schedule, assign, track, and follow up on preventative and corrective maintenance activities

  • Manage inventory levels for maintenance parts, tools, and supplies
  • Recommend process improvements, equipment upgrades, and capital purchases that support operational efficiency and reliability
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, GMP standards, company policies, and maintenance procedures
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and documentation
