Job summary

Pregis is seeking a senior maintenance supervisor to lead a small team in a high-volume manufacturing environment. You will oversee preventive and predictive maintenance, direct daily activities, and partner with engineering to improve machine throughput and uptime.

Ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, PLCs, welding and machining, plus strong leadership and communication skills to manage 3–5 technicians and drive

Qualifications

• Advanced technical knowledge with strong mechanical aptitude.
• Proficient in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatics repair.
• Able to troubleshoot AC/DC vector and servo drives.
• Experience with PLC maintenance and programming.
• Basic welding and machining skills.
• Ability to read mechanical, piping and electrical drawings.
• Strong communication and customer service attitude.
• Experience directing a technical team.
• Familiar with high-volume production environments.
• Ability to lead multiple tasks.

• Must be able to troubleshoot and repair problems with AC, DC, vector and servo drive systems.
• Experience with PLC Maintenance and programming is vital.
• Basic welding and machining skills are helpful.
• Must be able to read, sketch and understand mechanical, piping and electrical drawings.
• Must be able to successfully interact and communicate with others and do so with a customer service attitude
• Must be willing to update skill set as needed.
• Experience directly leading a technical team
• A strong verbal and written communication skill is a must along with good interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity of very high-volume production environment.
• Experience in directing team members on different tasks.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience will be taken into consideration.
• A minimum of 8-15 years’ experience on an industrial maintenance team.

Essential Functions

• Able to stand for long periods of time; as much as up to 12 hours.
• Bending, climb ladders, and able to lift weights of 60 lbs.
• Involved with decision making for new hires.
• Must be able to operate Powered Industrial Equipment such as forklifts, lathes, mill, welders’ other various maintenance equipment.
• Work closely with engineering to improve the machines production output.
• Interact with contractors, vendors to ensure that work is completed at a high quality.
• Involvement with our safety program and enforce all safety rules throughout the plant.
• Must be able to operate a variety of power tools.
• This position must be able to work in a wide range of environmental conditions. Use all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all required times and follow all safety rules.
• Available to work overtime as needed with short notice. Open to all shifts.
• Able to accurately read a variety of measuring devices.
• The ability to speak and understand English in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with the management team.
