Job summary

Nesco Resource is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor in Fayetteville, TN to lead the maintenance department and drive reliability across a manufacturing operation. This direct-hire, full-time role requires hands-on leadership to reduce downtime, improve equipment performance, and mentor a growing team of technicians.

You will develop and implement preventive maintenance programs, manage budgets, and collaborate with Production to optimize safety, quality, and cost while ensuring production runs

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of leadership experience in maintenance, preferably automotive/manufacturing.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Strong understanding of preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience analyzing downtime and implementing root-cause solutions.
  • Experience leading, training, and developing maintenance personnel.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct the daily activities of the Maintenance Department.
  • Oversee plant maintenance, projects, and schedules.
  • Develop, implement, and improve Planned Preventive Maintenance programs.
  • Analyze equipment downtime and identify root causes.
  • Evaluate staffing needs and coordinate schedules.
  • Partner with Production to improve reliability, efficiency, quality, cost, delivery, and safety.
  • Train and mentor maintenance personnel.
  • Provide technical guidance and review maintenance work.
  • Manage department expenses, budgets, and projects.
  • Research and recommend maintenance equipment purchases.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and ordering.
  • Oversee external contractors.
  • Maintain documentation; ensure safety and environmental standards.

  • Work with 2D and 3D CAD/CAM software.
  • Read blueprints and measurements.
  • Support maintenance activities involving robotic equipment.

We are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the overall maintenance operation, oversee team performance, coordinate preventive maintenance activities, and work closely with other departments to keep production running safely and efficiently.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Lead and direct the daily activities of the Maintenance Department.

  • Oversee overall plant maintenance and coordinate maintenance projects and schedules.

  • Develop, implement, and improve Planned Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs and equipment/asset care systems.

  • Analyze equipment downtime and recurring issues to identify root causes and implement effective countermeasures.

  • Evaluate staffing needs, coordinate schedules, and adjust resources as operational needs change.

  • Partner with Production and other departments to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, quality, cost, delivery, and safety.

  • Lead, train, mentor, and evaluate maintenance personnel and subordinate supervisors.

  • Provide technical guidance and review maintenance work, progress, and procedures.

  • Manage maintenance department expenses, budgets, cost estimates, and project proposals.

  • Research and recommend the purchase of maintenance equipment, tools, and supplies.

  • Manage and monitor spare parts inventory and ordering.

  • Obtain bids and oversee work performed by outside contractors.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance, safety, expense, and other departmental documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

  • Support 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Quality, Safety, Delivery, and Cost initiatives.

  • Work with 2D and 3D CAD/CAM software.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications and utilize measurement tools.

  • Support maintenance activities involving robotic equipment on production lines, including training maintenance personnel on robot operation and improvement activities.

  • Support welding process improvements and proper welding conditions.

  • Assist with administrative and IT-related duties as needed.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

You will provide overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the maintenance team and subordinate supervisors.

Responsibilities include:

  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees

  • Planning and assigning work

  • Directing daily activities

  • Evaluating employee performance

  • Coaching and mentoring team members

  • Addressing employee concerns and resolving problems

  • Supporting company goals and performance expectations

QUALIFICATIONS

Required/Preferred Experience:

  • 2+ years of leadership experience in Maintenance, preferably within an automotive and/or manufacturing environment.

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

  • Strong understanding of preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, and troubleshooting.

  • Experience analyzing downtime and implementing root-cause solutions.

  • Previous experience leading, training, and developing maintenance personnel.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

COMPUTER & TECHNICAL SKILLS

Experience with:

  • Microsoft Office — Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams

  • ERP systems

  • CAD/CAM or related engineering/manufacturing software

  • Blueprints, specifications, and measurement tools

  • Industrial equipment and maintenance systems

WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL

The ideal candidate is a hands-on maintenance leader who can balance people, production, equipment, and budget responsibilities.

You should be comfortable analyzing problems, making decisions, communicating with management, developing your team, and stepping onto the production floor when technical guidance is needed.

SCHEDULE & TRAVEL
  • Schedule may vary based on operational and administrative needs.

  • Occasional overtime, holidays, or alternate shifts may be required.

  • Local, national, and international travel may occasionally be required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This is a hands-on manufacturing leadership position. The role requires the ability to stand, walk, operate industrial equipment, use hands for repetitive tasks, and occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach.

The position may require pushing, pulling, moving, and/or lifting up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The Maintenance Supervisor will work in an active manufacturing environment with exposure to:

  • Moving mechanical parts and machinery

  • Vehicles and electrical equipment

  • Industrial exhaust and production substances

  • Oils and vibration

  • Varying temperatures

  • Narrow aisles or passageways

Noise levels may range from moderate to loud.
