Job summary

Nature Fresh Farms is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for our Delta, OH facility. You will lead maintenance teams, manage work orders in ConnectWise, and ensure reliable operations of greenhouse equipment and infrastructure.

Responsibilities include planning, coordinating external contractors, inventory control, and hands-on support. Strong leadership and problem-solving are essential for maintaining safety and efficiency in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of maintenance supervision experience in manufacturing/greenhouse environment.
• Strong planning and organizing skills with ability to delegate and follow up.
• Proficient in ConnectWise and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and assign maintenance tasks using ConnectWise, plan ahead for jobs and materials.
• Monitor work orders and ensure timely completion and proper documentation.
• Manage tool crib stock and parts, order supplies, verify accuracy of deliveries.
• Coordinate quotes and outside contractor work (electrical/building) as needed.
• Assist maintenance staff and provide hands-on support when required.
• Inspect equipment for defects, ensure safe, compliant operation.
• Maintain safety, quality, and HR policies; participate in interviews as needed.
• Oversee training and development of maintenance personnel.

We are currently looking to fill a full-time, permanent position for a Maintenance Supervisor in our Operations Department at our Delta, OH facility.

What You'll Do

• The Maintenance Supervisor uses ConnectWise to organize jobs (ex. Repairs, installations, regular maintenance, new build etc.) and work orders and to allocate them to the appropriate maintenance employee as seen fit. A plan may need to be put in place depending on the job.
• Once the job is completed, s/he would follow up with each maintenance employee to make sure that it is done correctly and that the work order is filled out and closed.
• Ensure that the tool crib has proper stock on hand at all times.
• Order any parts/supplies that are required. Once they arrive, it’s essential to check the order for accuracy. Moving supplies/parts to the appropriate phase.
• If we require work to be completed by an outside party, quotes and permits may need to be requested/arranged and the job planned and communicated to the contractor. This may include such services as electrical or building. Managing these relationships is an important duty.
• Assist the Maintenance employees with some jobs, if required.
• Examine and test machinery, equipment, components and parts for defects to ensure proper functioning.
• Ensure that emergency or priority work orders are completed on a timely basis.
• Motivating and encouraging workers and communicating with them as necessary.
• Ensure that the Maintenance employees are aware of and follow all company policies and job descriptions. Proper discipline procedures must be administered when an employee does not meet quality, production, safety or other regulations. Verbal and written warnings are issued when necessary and all incidents’ and absences are reported to HR or Health & Safety. These procedures will be provided by management.
• Participate in the interview and hiring process as needed.
• Remain actively involved in employee hands on training and follow-up to ensure all work is done efficiently and correctly. Training and development is required on an on-going basis.
• Responsible for reviewing the employee labour tracking system as well as notifying employees if they are not logging jobs and hours properly.
• Confidence is necessary when dealing with difficult situations. Each supervisor is provided with policies and procedures to assist them however if the situation persists, we encourage you to talk to your manager.
• Must comply with all Health and Safety, Food Safety, Bio Security, and Nature Fresh Policies and Procedures.

What You Bring

• Have an understanding of plumbing, electrical systems as well as carpentry and other basic building skills
• General knowledge of tools and work supplies would be essential
• Must be able to embrace challenges with critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Delegating, negotiating, conflict management, stress tolerance, planning and organizing, leadership, listening, time management and follow up skills are essential. Attention to detail
• Basic computer skills and the ability to adapt to other programs such as ConnectWise
• Respectful, positive attitude, flexible, accountable, honest, patient and dependable
• Valid drivers license and use of personal vehicle are required.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish (strong asset)
