At Pelican, your work has a real‑world impact. You’ll be part of a team driven by innovation, craftsmanship, and the shared belief that when the mission is critical, failure isn’t an option. • Inspect and maintain motors, pumps, hoses, gauges, belts, lubrication systems, and other critical machine components.
  • Coordinate maintenance priorities with Production and other departments to support manufacturing schedules.
  • Maintain an appropriate inventory of critical spare parts, maintenance supplies, and replacement components.
  • Ensure maintenance work follows established safety requirements, including Lockout/Tagout, PPE, machine guarding, and housekeeping standards.
  • Lead department meetings and provide technical guidance, training, and development to maintenance employees.
  • Coach employees, evaluate performance, and support hiring, performance management, and disciplinary processes.
  • Ensure maintenance documentation, work procedures, and preventive maintenance activities are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Identify recurring equipment issues and support corrective actions and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Remain available for emergency maintenance support and extended schedules, including evenings and weekends, when required.
What We’re Looking For
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Trade or technical school certification is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience supervising, leading, or directing maintenance employees.
  • Hands‑on experience maintaining and troubleshooting manufacturing or industrial equipment.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience diagnosing equipment failures and determining appropriate repairs.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, including molding and auxiliary equipment, is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, equipment specifications, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of plant and machine safety practices, including Lockout/Tagout.
  • Ability to plan maintenance work, prioritize equipment issues, and manage multiple maintenance needs.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and time‑management skills.
