Job summary

Middletown Park Rehabilitation & Healthcare in Middletown, NY is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for a 230-bed skilled nursing facility. You will supervise maintenance technicians, manage work orders and preventive maintenance, and ensure life safety code compliance with a strong team.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent, an associate’s degree preferred, OSHA certification a plus, and 3+ years of building maintenance experience in healthcare.

Qualifications

• Must supervise, assign and direct maintenance staff.
• 3+ years of experience in building maintenance, preferably in healthcare.
• Must read, speak, and write English.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, assign and direct maintenance technicians and act as back-up to the Director of Maintenance.
• Oversee payroll, timekeeping and attendance for maintenance staff; assist with scheduling.
• Manage work orders and preventive maintenance for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, boilers, generators and fire/sprinkler systems.
• Coordinate vendors and contractors and inspect their work for quality.

Maintenance Supervisor Summary

• Supervise, assign and direct maintenance technicians, and serve as back-up to the Director of Maintenance
• Oversee/assist payroll, timekeeping and attendance for maintenance staff, and assist with scheduling
• Manage work orders and preventive maintenance for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, boilers, generators and fire/sprinkler systems
• Coordinate vendors and contractors, and inspect their work to make sure it's done correctly
• Conduct facility rounds and inspections, and support NYS DOH, Life Safety Code and OSHA compliance
• Work a regular weekend rotation and on-call schedule, and respond to building emergencies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required
• Graduate of a technical/trade school or Associate’s degree, preferred
• OSHA Certification, or related training/certification a plus
• 3+ years of experience in building maintenance, preferably in a skilled nursing facility/long-term care setting.
• Healthcare industry experience a plus. 1+ year of experience in a lead or supervisory maintenance role, preferred.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, boilers, compressors, generators, fire/sprinkler systems, and allied machinery.
• Ability to supervise, assign work, set priorities, and hold staff and outside vendors accountable for timely and correct completion of work.
• Must be able to read, speak and write English. Knowledge of other languages may be helpful.
• Must possess the ability to work well under pressure and be flexible.Ability to work cohesively with residents, families, and staff from various departments.
• Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills
• Valid driver’s license, preferred
