Position Overview

HiFyve is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and high equipment uptime. This hands-on role will lead a team of skilled maintenance technicians, providing direction, troubleshooting support, and expertise for plant equipment, including PLCs, VFDs, Servos, and HMIs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct the day-to-day activities of the maintenance workforce.
  • Provide direction and assign maintenance tasks to technicians while overseeing quality of work performed.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to review and optimize planning and scheduling.
  • Coordinate and communicate maintenance schedules and activities with operations to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Evaluate technician skills and recommend training or development opportunities as needed.
  • Oversee inventory management of spare parts and supplies to support maintenance activities.
  • Implement and manage preventive maintenance programs for critical equipment.
  • Provide hands-on leadership for mechanical repairs, installations, and capital improvement projects.
  • Supervise the electrical setup and installation of new or relocated machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, including servo motors, pumps, gearboxes, steam, and ammonia systems.
  • Analyze equipment issues to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage technician schedules, timecards, and work assignments.

Required Competencies

  • Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve equipment problems effectively.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to supervise and train maintenance staff while fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, charts).
  • Technical knowledge of PLCs, digital/analog sensors, and hydraulic/electrical systems.
  • Experience with servo motors, encoders, gearboxes, pumps, steam, and ammonia systems.
  • Effective project management and planning skills.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory/leadership experience in a maintenance role.
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Experience in food facilities is a plus.
  • Experience with blow molding, ammonia systems, and boiler systems is a plus.
  • Prior union experience is also a plus.
