Job summary

DG Foods is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor for our Bastrop plant. The role emphasizes electrical and mechanical maintenance, overseeing a maintenance crew, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will direct diagnostics, oversee repairs, and ensure safety programs for LO/TO, GMPs, and PPEs, while maintaining critical records. Strong leadership and communication are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Requires 110V/480V three-phase electrical knowledge.
• Experience with VFD drives.
• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Basic NH3 refrigeration knowledge.
• PSM understanding.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods and cope with hot/cold/wet environments.
• 1–3 years supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
• Direct workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
• Lead dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
• Oversee safety aspects including LO/TO, GMPs & PPEs.
• Maintain records (Safety Training, Work Orders, PMs, Purchase Orders).
• Coordinate with USDA on maintenance deficiencies in a timely manner.
• Other duties assigned by Maintenance Superintendent or Manager.

Job description

DG Foods is currently looking for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor for our Bastrop plant. The ideal candidate should have a working knowledge of 480volt electrical equipment with experience and a solid understanding of basic mechanical principles. DG Foods has a very aggressive compensation program based on performance. This is a full-time position with the opportunity to participate in our company benefit programs!

Essential Job Functions:

• Performs electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
• Directs workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
• Leads tasks in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
• Help oversee all safety aspects for all DG Foods team members including but not limited to LO/TO, GMP’s & PPE’s.
• Responsible for all required Record keeping including but not limited to: Safety Training, BRC Training, Work Orders, PM’s, and Purchase Orders.
• Responsible for working with USDA on any deficiencies that would involve maintenance in a timely and respectful manner.
• All other duties are assigned by the Maintenance Superintendent or Maintenance Manager.

Job Requirements:

• Working knowledge and understanding of 110v and 480v 3-phase electrical circuits.
• Must have some knowledge & understanding of VFD drives.
• Experience with both A/C and D/C control devices.
• Experience with both Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems.
• Basic understanding of NH3 Refrigeration systems with at least one year of experience.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of PSM.
• Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be able to work feet (standing / walking) for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work in Hot, Cold & Wet environments.
• At least 1 to 3 years of experience in supervising or managing a crew of 5 or more employees is highly desirable.

Educational Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED required;
• College degree, and maintenance technical certifications preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in a cold and wet environment.
• Must be able to work standing for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
