We are looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to support the maintenance department by leading preventative maintenance, improvements, and repairs in automation systems and electrical controls. The role involves guiding mechanics, tracking their progress, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment as needed. The supervisor will teach, evaluate, and perform troubleshooting and repairs on modern automated equipment.
Role & Responsibilities
- Follow up on preventative maintenance, work orders, and emergency repairs to ensure proper completion.
- Inspect equipment and plan repairs during scheduled downtime.
- Assist and train mechanics to support their growth and promotions.
- Coordinate with production supervisors to meet their maintenance needs.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on automated equipment.
- Respond promptly to maintenance calls and be prepared to repair.
- Maintain visibility and availability on the plant floor.
- Ensure a safe working environment in the maintenance shop and on the plant floor.
- Maintain food safety standards with attention to detail.
- Provide and maintain personal hand tools.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Schedule mechanics and handle payroll submissions.
- Participate in operational, safety, and food safety meetings and inspections.
Requirements & Physical Demands
- Prior experience in plant maintenance or as a general commercial mechanic.
- Ability to arrive on time consistently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes.
- Valid license to operate applicable equipment.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow safety procedures and signs.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and handle ingredients and equipment.
- Ability to work around various food machinery.
- Ability to measure ingredients and follow written instructions.
- Capability to stand, stoop, and reach for full shifts.
- Work in loud, hot environments.
- Capable of moving throughout the plant, including reaching, bending, climbing, pushing, and pulling.
- Willing to work irregular, rotating shifts, including holidays and weekends.
- Must be 18 years or older.
