The Maintenance Supervisor will support the maintenance department by leading preventative maintenance, improvements, and repairs in automation systems and electrical controls. This role also supports mechanics by guiding, helping them improve, and tracking their progress in maintaining equipment, troubleshooting when problems arise, and repairing machines when broken down. You will have the opportunity to teach, evaluate, and perform troubleshooting and repairs for all facets of modern automated equipment as needed.

In this Role
  • Follow up on preventative maintenance, work orders, and emergency repairs to ensure they are being done correctly.
  • Inspect running equipment and plan for repairs during scheduled downtime.
  • Work with mechanics individually to help them where they have room for improvement.
  • Assist mechanics in their training programs to facilitate their growth and promotions.
  • Work closely with production supervisors to make sure their needs are being met.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems on automated equipment.
  • Answer calls for maintenance quickly and fully prepared to make any repairs needed.
  • Be visible and readily available on the plant floor as much as possible.
  • Maintain a safe working environment both in the maintenance shop and on the plant floor.
  • Be food safety minded with attention to details being critical when working on equipment or anywhere near the product.
  • Provide and maintain your own hand tools, including, but not limited to wrench sets, miscellaneous pliers, socket sets, hammers, punches, etc.
  • Work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Schedule mechanics and submit payroll.
  • Participate in operations shift meetings as well as safety and food safety meetings and inspections.
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in plant maintenance or general commercial mechanic experience.
  • Arrive at work on time consistently.
  • Work in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to frequent changes that occur on the production line.
  • Must possess or maintain a valid license to operate applicable equipment.
  • Read, comprehend, and practice necessary safety procedures and signs.
  • Work around and with various food machinery.
  • Measure ingredients and follow written instructions.
  • Work irregular and/or rotating shifts, including split days off (non‑consecutive days off) and work holidays and weekends.
  • Be 18 years or older.
Essential Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and push and pull heavy wheeled equipment or carts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time during a shift, maintaining a normal range of motion in all extremities.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and crouch to access equipment, tools, or materials.
  • Ability to use arms, hands and fingers to handle or operate machinery, tools or controls.
  • Ability to perceive and respond immediately to visual and audible safety alerts and warnings to ensure the safety of self and others in a fast-paced, hazard-sensitive environment with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and airborne particles, odors and fumes.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, or work platforms as required by the position.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods using office equipment and computer systems.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and protective clothing for extended periods of time, with or without reasonable accommodation.
